Filed:
Oct 31, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/263356
Inventors:
Vishal Sinha - Santa Clara CA, US
Assignee:
FOUNDRY NETWORKS, INC. - Santa Clara CA
International Classification:
H04W 4/00
US Classification:
4554321
Abstract:
Wireless roaming in a computer network may be handled through a solution provided on one or more switches in the network. A roam request sent by a switch corresponding to the user's new location may be received by the other switches in the network. If the user is known to any of these switches, then they may execute steps to accommodate the roaming. The tasks performed may vary based on whether the roaming is on layer or layer whether the switch is a home agent for the client, and/or whether the switch already corresponds to the user's new location.

The CM is further configured to, in response to a request from a first FSVM to identify a storage location for a storage item, identify a cluster at which the storage item is to be located based on the cluster storage statistics, identify a second FSVM at which the storage item is to be located based on compute usage statistics of one or more FSVMs in the identified cluster, and send an address of the second FSVM to the first FSVM.

Lid Controller Hub Architecture For Improved Touch Experiences

View page
US Patent:
20210132769, May 6, 2021
Filed:
Dec 26, 2020
Appl. No.:
17/134396
Inventors:
Kunjal S. Parikh - Fremont CA, US
Antonio S. Cheng - Portland OR, US
Paul S. Diefenbaugh - Portland OR, US
Jackson Tsai - New Taipei City, TW
Edward James Raleigh - San Jose CA, US
Vishal Ravindra Sinha - Portland OR, US
Chung-yu Liang - Zhubei City, TW
Aleksander Magi - Portland OR, US
Yifan Li - Beaverton OR, US
International Classification:
G06F 3/041
G06F 1/16
Abstract:
A lid controller hub (LCH) comprising processing components located in the lid of a mobile computing device, such as a laptop, processes sensor data generated by input sensors (microphones, cameras, touchscreen) and provides for improved and enhanced experiences over existing devices. For example, the LCH provides hardened privacy and the synchronization of touch display activities with the display refresh rate, the latter providing for a smoother and more responsive touch experience over existing designs. The LCH enables continuous gestures comprising touch gesture and in-air gesture portions as well as multi-plane gestures in which an initial touch gesture places the device into a mode or context in which it recognizes and acts upon subsequent in-air gestures. Touch operations of a mobile computing device can be based on user presence, user engagement, and a level of user interaction with the device.

JASON TANNER - Folsom CA, US
International Classification:
G06T 15/00
G06T 3/00
G06T 1/60
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for efficient rendering and transmission of video content in a virtual reality system. For example, one embodiment of an apparatus comprises: a first frame buffer to store image frames to be transmitted to a virtual reality apparatus; tile-based image rendering circuitry and/or logic to concurrently render multiple tiles of a first image frame, wherein tiles are categorized core tiles or a peripheral tiles; tile-based transmission circuitry and/or logic to transmit a first core tile rendered to the virtual reality apparatus before one or more remaining tiles have been rendered, the tile-based transmission circuitry and/or logic to continue to transmit one or more subsequently rendered core tiles following the first tile until all core tiles have been transmitted; and the tile-based transmission circuitry and/or logic to identify a subset of peripheral tiles to be transmitted based on first coordinate/offset data and to responsively transmit the subset of peripheral tiles.

International Classification:
G06F 17/30
G06F 9/455
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a system for managing communication connections in a virtualization environment includes a plurality of host machines implementing a virtualization environment, wherein each of the host machines includes a hypervisor, at least one user virtual machine (user VM), and a distributed file server that includes file server virtual machines (FSVMs) and associated local storage devices. Each FSVM and associated local storage device are local to a corresponding one of the host machines, and the FSVMs conduct I/O transactions with their associated local storage devices based on I/O requests received from the user VMs. Each of the user VMs on each host machine sends each of its respective I/O requests to an FSVM that is selected by one or more of the FSVMs for each I/O request based on a lookup table that maps a storage item referenced by the I/O request to the selected one of the FSVMs.

Appl. No.:
14/506943
Inventors:
- San Jose CA, US
Vishal Sinha - Union City CA, US
Gefan Zhang - San Jose CA, US
Kalpesh Bafna - Milpitas CA, US
