Electrical Connector Adaptor With Strain Relief

View page
US Patent:
7070454, Jul 4, 2006
Filed:
Oct 6, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/244985
Inventors:
Paul John Pepe - Clemmons NC, US
Danny Gray Dollyhigh - Mount Airy NC, US
Tony E. Beam - Belews Creek NC, US
Assignee:
Tyco Electronics Corporation - Middletown PA
International Classification:
H01R 25/00
US Classification:
439638, 439464, 439470, 439719
Abstract:
An electrical connector adaptor for use with cable assemblies has been provided. The adapter comprises first and second contact sets and a housing. The housing has a first mating face configured to join with a mating connector and a second mating face configured to join with a cable assembly. The first and second mating faces retain the first and second contact sets in different first and second patterns, respectively. A strain relief is formed extending from the housing. The strain relief projects beyond the second mating face and is positioned such that the cable assembly rests against the strain relief when the cable assembly is joined to the second mating face. Optionally, a securing member is configured to secure the cable assembly to the strain relief.

Method And Apparatus For Visual Indication In Cable Network Systems

View page
US Patent:
7686643, Mar 30, 2010
Filed:
Sep 18, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/901543
Inventors:
Paul John Pepe - Clemmons NC, US
Tony E. Beam - Belews Creek NC, US
Assignee:
Tyco Electronics Corporation - Middletown PA
International Classification:
H01R 3/00
US Classification:
439490, 439489
Abstract:
A cable network system includes a distribution assembly having a plurality of visual indicators mounted thereto, and a jack assembly removably coupled to the distribution assembly. The jack assembly has a plurality of jacks configured to receive cables of the cable network system therein. The visual indicators provide an indication of a status of a respective one of the jacks, and the jack assembly is removable from the distribution assembly while the visual indicators remain mounted to the distribution assembly.

Sensor Strip For A Connectivity Management System

View page
US Patent:
7695309, Apr 13, 2010
Filed:
Aug 26, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/198738
Inventors:
Darrell Wayne Craig - Stokesdale NC, US
James Gregory Garrett - Lexington NC, US
Tony Edward Beam - Belews Creek NC, US
Assignee:
Tyco Electronics Corporation - Berwyn PA
International Classification:
H01R 3/00
US Classification:
439489
Abstract:
A network panel includes a panel having a plurality of openings and interconnect modules received in the openings. Each interconnect module has a mating face and a plurality of receptacle jacks. Each receptacle jack has an opening at the mating face defining a port configured to receive a plug of a patch cord having the sensing probes. The network panel also includes a sensor strip having one or more headers and one or more flexible circuits interconnecting a plurality of rigid circuit boards with the header. Each of the circuit boards have contact pads and the sensor strip is mounted to at least one of the panel and the interconnect modules such that the contact pads are aligned with respective receptacle jacks. The contact pads are configured to interface with sensing probes when the plug is mated with the receptacle jacks.

Downspout For Building Gutters Or The Like

View page
US Patent:
46087869, Sep 2, 1986
Filed:
Dec 10, 1985
Appl. No.:
6/807290
Inventors:
Tony D. Beam - Stanley NC
International Classification:
E04D 1308
US Classification:
52 16
Abstract:
A downspout structure adapted to be utilized with a conventional gutter on a building structure to discharge run-off water to a drainage location, including an elongate generally U-shaped open downspout member having an interior water deflector arrangement along substantially the length thereof forming wettable surfaces adapted for causing run-off water contacting the deflector arrangement to flow sheetingly therealong to retain the run-off water within the downspout member. Leaves and other debris are transported through the downspout member by the sheeting water run-off and the open nature of the downspout member permits expulsion of such debris to substantially prevent clogging of the downspout structure.

Cover Member For Rain Gutters

View page
US Patent:
46048375, Aug 12, 1986
Filed:
Sep 13, 1985
Appl. No.:
6/775604
Inventors:
Tony D. Beam - Stanley NC
International Classification:
E04D 1300
US Classification:
52 12
Abstract:
A cover member adapted to be mounted in a conventional gutter on a building structure in covering relation to the open top to the gutter trough provides a forward upwardly-extending lip portion having a curved outward surface adapted to form a dam to water runoff from the building structure to slow the speed of water runoff flowing over the lip portion to cause the overflowing water to follow the curved outward surface of the lip portion into the gutter while causing leaves and like debris to fall gravitationally over the lip portion outwardly of the gutter. In one embodiment, the lip portion is formed as an integral upwardly and rearwardly curled forward edge to the cover member. In a second embodiment, a coil spring rests between the curled lip portion and the front wall of the gutter to act as a filter against debris entering the gutter. In a third embodiment, the lip portion is formed as a circular bead fitted to the forward edge of the cover member, with a spiral groove in the bead serving to direct overflowing water runoff into the gutter. As desired, drain openings may be formed in the cover member adjacent the lip portion to increase the capacity of the cover member for handling water runoff.
