An alarm light integrated into the top of the handle of a portable patient monitor or other portable medical diagnostic instrument. Since the top of the handle is the highest point of the monitor, the alarm light can be clearly seen from the sides, top and back of the monitor. Because the alarm light is integrated into the handle structure, it can be easily moved with the monitor and cannot be accidentally disconnected. In addition, the structure of the handle protects the alarm light from damage during transport. The alarm light assembly includes a circuit board which supports at least one light-emitting diode and a connector for supplying electrical power to the light-emitting diode(s), and a light-transmitting plastic lens which supports the circuit board. When activated, the light-emitting diodes are visible through the lens.

The apparatus is also configured to open a preview pane on the display screen entirely within the viewing area of the display screen when the visual cautionary indication is selected by the pointing device. The preview pane contains cautionary details associated with the corresponding patient for the selected visual cautionary indication.

A system and method for acquiring x-ray imaging data from a subject is disclosed. The x-ray imaging system includes a first support structure oriented in a vertical fashion and a second support structure oriented in a vertical fashion and spaced apart from the first support structure to define a scanning area configured to receive a subject to be scanned. A linear x-ray source is affixed to the first support structure on one side of the scanning area and is oriented in a vertical fashion, with the linear x-ray source configured to emit x-rays towards the subject. A linear detector arrangement is affixed to the second support structure on another side of the scanning area and is generally opposite the linear x-ray source. The linear detector arrangement is configured to receive x-rays after passing through the subject.

A health assessment system includes first and second support structures oriented in a vertical fashion and spaced apart from one another to define a scanning area configured to receive a subject to be scanned, an x-ray imaging system incorporated into the first and second support structures and configured to acquire x-ray image data from the subject in a standing position, and at least one additional data acquisition device configured to acquire health related data from the subject. The health assessment system also includes a computer programmed to receive the x-ray image data and the health related data and generate a diagnostic output based on the x-ray image data and the health related data, the diagnostic output comprising at least one of a health related diagnosis and a recommendation for future action.

A viewer displays the patient and ventilator parameters for an overall monitoring time period on a timeline. A reference marker is displayed on the timeline to select a segment of the patient and ventilator parameters corresponding to a past monitoring time, wherein the segment selected represents a time segment within the overall monitoring time period. The patient and ventilator parameters corresponding to the time segment are displayed.
