Abstract:
A mask includes rigid interior shell for placing over a user's face and a resilient exterior portion. The interior shell includes a first portion and a second portion hingedly secured to the first portion. The second portion is operable to move between a first position and a second position in response to movement by the user. The resilient exterior portion is coupled to the interior shell, and at least a portion of the exterior portion deforms when the interior shell second portion is moved from the first position to the second position.

Abstract:
A body worn personal accessory for simulating wings, for example, as part of a costume. The accessory has a base plate which is held to the body of the user by straps. A manual cable based actuation system for spreading the wings is mounted on the base plate. The wings comprise an uncomplicated rigid skeleton adapted to enable flexing or spreading, and a web covering the skeleton. The actuation system includes cables terminating in hand receiving loops.
