Assignee:
the glad products company - Oakland CA
International Classification:
B65D 3325
US Classification:
24427, 24400
Abstract:
The closure device ( ) includes interlocking fastening strips ( ) and a slider ( ) slidably disposed on the fastening strips for facilitating the occlusion and deocclusion of the fastening strips when moved towards first and second ends thereof. Flexible shoulders ( ) and legs ( ) are disposed on the slider ( ) for facilitating the attachment of the slider onto the fastening strips ( ) in the vertical Z axis ( ). The flexible shoulders ( ) and legs ( ) further provide resistance against the removal of the slider ( ) from the fastening strips ( ) in the vertical Z axis ( ) thereafter.

US Patent:
6928702, Aug 16, 2005
Filed:
Jun 10, 1999
Appl. No.:
09/979407
Inventors:
Alan F. Savicki - Naperville IL, US
Jeffrey S. Stiglic - Tinley Park IL, US
Assignee:
The Glad Products Company - Oakland CA
International Classification:
A44B019/16
US Classification:
24 305R, 24387, 24400
Abstract:
The closure device ()includes a first fastening strip (), a second fastening strip (), and a slider () adapted to be slidably disposed on the fastening strips. The slider () facilitates the occlusion of the fastening strips when moved towards a first end thereof. A first detent () is located at the first end of the fastening strips. The slider () includes a housing having a first flexible portion () for engaging the first detent () when the slider () is moved to the first end of the fastening strips. The first flexible portion () and detent () prevent removal of the slider () from the first end of the fastening strips () in the longitudinal X axis ().

Bag

US Patent:
20100266222, Oct 21, 2010
Filed:
Apr 13, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/759310
Inventors:
John E. Rusnak - Aurora IL, US
Jeffrey S. Stiglic - New Lenox IL, US
Theodore J. Fish - Downers Grove IL, US
John A. MacPherson - Aurora IL, US
Assignee:
The Glad Products Company - Oakland CA
International Classification:
B65D 33/16
B65D 30/20
B65D 30/08
B31B 1/90
B31B 19/26
US Classification:
383 63, 383120, 383109, 493214, 493243
Abstract:
A thermoplastic bag for storing food items may include a first sidewall and an opposing second sidewall joined to the first sidewall to define an interior volume. The first and second sidewalls may be made from pliable, sheet-like thermoplastic web material. The sidewalls may be formed with a pattern of ribs. When a tensioning force is applied to the sidewall, the ribs may open so that the sidewall may become generally more planar. Opening the ribs may cause the sidewalls to stretch or expand thereby adding to the overall area of the bag. The thermoplastic material may have a shape memory characteristic that may cause the ribs to reform after the tensioning force is alleviated.

The entire bag, the hem area, or the draw tape may contain fragrance, malodor control agents, and fragrance release inhibitors.

Closure Device And Slider

View page
US Patent:
62207547, Apr 24, 2001
Filed:
Sep 9, 1998
Appl. No.:
9/149944
Inventors:
Jeffrey S. Stiglic - Tinley Park IL
Michael G. Borchardt - Naperville IL
Assignee:
The Glad Products Company - Oakland CA
International Classification:
B65D 3325
US Classification:
383 64
Abstract:
A closure device with interlocking fastening strips and a slider which establishes a leak proof seal. The closure device comprises first and second interlocking fastening strips arranged to be interlocked over a predetermined length and a slider with a separator finger which slidably engages said first and second fastening strips. The first fastening strip includes a first closure element and the second fastening strip includes a second closure element. The slider facilitates the occlusion of the closure elements when moved towards a first end of the fastening strips. The separator finger extends into the closure elements without extending completely through the closure elements. The portion of the closure elements below the separator finger are occluded when the slider is at the first end of the fastening strips.

Thermoplastic Films And Products With Diffusion-Based Compartmentalized Additive Components

View page
US Patent:
20230096385, Mar 30, 2023
Filed:
Feb 17, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/760320
Inventors:
- Oakland CA, US
Jeffrey S. STIGLIC - Willowbrook IL, US
Anthony A. CISEK - Willowbrook IL, US
Jessica GREER - Willowbrook IL, US
Jing HONG - San Jose CA, US
International Classification:
C08J 5/18
A61L 9/014
B65F 1/00
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to thermoplastic films and products formed therefrom that include additive components effectively compartmentalized based on diffusion characteristics of the additive components. For example, first and second additive components are localized on a thermoplastic film in a manner that as the additive components diffuse, they minimize or avoid interaction. Specifically, the thermoplastic film is folded over itself to create an air gap that causes the additive components to desorb, diffuse into the air gap, and then absorb into the film at a position across the air gap rather than diffusing substantially laterally across the thermoplastic film. By ensuring that the additive components diffuse up and down rather than laterally and by laterally offsetting the additive components, one or more implementations effectively compartmentalize the antagonistic components.
