Methods For Driving Electro-Optic Displays

View page
US Patent:
20130321278, Dec 5, 2013
Filed:
May 21, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/898592
Inventors:
Yuval Ben-Dov - Cambridge MA, US
Kenneth R. Crounse - Somerville MA, US
Jason Lin - Malden MA, US
Karl Raymond Amundson - Cambridge MA, US
Michael Patrick Almon - Brighton MA, US
Hugh M. Enxing - Medford MA, US
Assignee:
E INK CORPORATION - Cambridge MA
International Classification:
G06F 3/042
G06F 3/02
US Classification:
345168, 345175
Abstract:
A touch screen electro-optic display is arranged such that upon a touch being detected on the display surface, the display surface surrounding the touch “blinks” by being driven to a different optical state, then back to its original state. A second method uses a display having a pen or stylus which can draw lines upon the display. A first line segment is detected and its area updated using a first drive scheme having short waveforms. The area of a second line segment is updated using the first drive scheme. Thereafter, the areas of both line segments are updated using a second drive scheme different from the first drive scheme.

System For Co-Adaptive Human-Computer Interaction

US Patent:
20180101391, Apr 12, 2018
Filed:
Oct 6, 2017
Appl. No.:
15/727447
Inventors:
- Cambridge MA, US
Emily Catherine Vincent - Cambridge MA, US
Zahar Prasov - Cambridge MA, US
Krysta Elise Chauncey - Cambridge MA, US
Caroline Elizabeth Harriott - Cambridge MA, US
Craig Edward Masley - Cambridge MA, US
Hugh Matthew Enxing - Cambridge MA, US
Harry Tian Gao - Cambridge MA, US
International Classification:
G06F 9/44
Abstract:
In an embodiment, a method includes associating a user interaction with a respective command of a library of commands of an application run by a processor. The user interactions are inputted to a graphical user interface (GUI) presented by the application to a user, for example, at a display. The method further includes identifying each of the user interactions with a library of commands of the GUI presented by the application by assigning each user interaction an event identification. The method further includes, in response to one of the event identifications, modifying a dimension of the plurality of user interactions. The method further includes adapting the GUI of the application based on the categorization by presenting command interfaces associated with user interactions predicted by the dimension in the adapted GUI.

G06N 99/00
G06T 7/277
G06K 9/46
G06K 9/62
E21B 17/042
Abstract:
A system and method for positioning oilfield tubulars on a drilling floor (), having an automated tubular handling system, to permit alignment and automated make up and break out of threading operations between a stationary tubular () and a moving tubular (), utilizing image information from radially offset cameras (), processing the image information to recognize the tubulars within the image and develop position information for said tubulars, combining the position information from the two camera systems to develop three dimensional information for each of the tubulars, developing instructions for the automated tubular handling system to bring the stationary and moving tubulars into vertical alignment and lowering the moving tubular into threaded contact, and engaging an automated hydraulic torque wrench to make up the threaded connection.
