Slip Bowl Load Transfer System

View page
US Patent:
20130133900, May 30, 2013
Filed:
Nov 30, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/307705
Inventors:
Herwig Michael Sredensek - Cypress TX, US
International Classification:
E21B 19/16
US Classification:
166380, 166 7753
Abstract:
A slip bowl load transfer system includes a first slip bowl assembly and a second slip bowl assembly. The first slip bowl assembly, adapted to engage and release a tubular member, includes a first slip bowl coupled to a second slip bowl. In an engaged state, the first slip bowl assembly imparts a compressive force on a portion of the tubular member between the first slip bowl and the second slip bowl. The second slip bowl assembly is adapted to engage and release the tubular member and is aligned with the first slip bowl assembly. When the second slip bowl assembly is engaging the tubular member in a second engaged state, the second slip bowl assembly is prevented from releasing the tubular member if the first slip bowl assembly is not in the engaged state.

Hydraulic Workover Unit For Live Well Workover

View page
US Patent:
20210140260, May 13, 2021
Filed:
Nov 12, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/681070
Inventors:
- Houston TX, US
Herwig Michael Sredensek - Wickenburg AZ, US
International Classification:
E21B 33/064
E21B 19/00
E21B 19/02
Abstract:
A workover unit for lowering an irregularly shaped production string into a live well includes a traveling assembly and stationary assembly movable relative to each other. The traveling assembly may include a traveling static annular BOP configured to seal around the production string during the lowering. The traveling assembly may include a reciprocating riser connected to the traveling annular BOP. The traveling assembly may include traveling slips configured to grip the production string during the lowering. The stationary assembly may include a dynamic BOP configured to seal around the reciprocating riser during the lowering. The stationary assembly may include a reciprocating jack configured to lower the traveling assembly. The stationary assembly may include a lower static annular BOP configured to seal around the production string when the traveling assembly is moved relative to the production string.

Modular Boost System For A Jack

View page
US Patent:
20200386062, Dec 10, 2020
Filed:
Jan 16, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/770157
Inventors:
- Houston TX, US
Herwig Michael Sredensek - Cypress TX, US
International Classification:
E21B 19/086
B66F 3/24
Abstract:
A modular boost system can be added to a jack to enable greater lift capacity of the jack. One example can involve a jack that is positionable at a well surface for moving a tubing string through a wellbore in a subterranean formation. The jack can include a frame and an adjustable plate that is alternately (i) attachable at a stationary location in the frame for fixing the adjustable plate at the stationary location or (ii) detachable from the stationary location in the frame to enable the adjustable plate to vertically move within the frame. A boost cylinder can be removably coupled to the adjustable plate and a base for selectively supplying an additional lift capability to the jack.
