Automatic Gate For A Bale Accumulator

View page
US Patent:
39588238, May 25, 1976
Filed:
Jul 5, 1974
Appl. No.:
5/485903
Inventors:
Gary L. Erlenbusch - Sioux Falls SD
Richard H. Mott - Sioux Falls SD
Assignee:
Du-Al Manufacturing Company - Sioux Falls SD
International Classification:
A05C 316
A05C 1910
US Classification:
292226
Abstract:
An improved gate for a bale accumulator which prevents bouncing of the latching mechanisms so that the gate passes by and is unlocked. Automatic bale accumulators accumulate bales of hay and release them when the accumulator is filled; and after all of the bales have passed out of the accumulator, the rear gate closes and is latched. The present invention assures positive latching such that the gate does not move the latching mechanism to a position so that the gate fails to latch.

Bale Handling Device

US Patent:
39442748, Mar 16, 1976
Filed:
May 3, 1974
Appl. No.:
5/466620
Inventors:
Richard H. Mott - Sioux Falls SD
Gary L. Erlenbusch - Sioux Falls SD
Assignee:
Du-Al Manufacturing Company - Sioux Falls SD
International Classification:
B66C 304
US Classification:
294 88
Abstract:
A bale handling device, more particularly a bale pick-up device, includes a plurality of squared C-shaped hooks which are individually pivotally mounted between pairs of elongate support members and pivotally mounted to actuating members for pivoting into a raised position out of engagement with the bales and a lowered position into engagement with the bales. Forces are applied via the actuating members to raise and lower the hooks by a pair of operating members which connect the actuating members to the piston end and the free end of a hydraulic cylinder. The cylinder is not fixed, but is free to float, effecting force equalization and preventing damage to the mechanism if an obstruction is encountered.
