A multiport non-blocking high capacity ATM and packet switch is a single chip switching solution for ATM and packet systems. It is capable of 8Ã8 switching of 800 Mbit/s per port in both directions. Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for extending the transmission range of a UTOPIA ATM (or packet) interface include providing two UTOPIA extension devices, one for coupling a PHY layer device to a transmission cloud and one for coupling an ATM layer (or LINK layer) device to the transmission cloud. Each device includes a UTOPIA interface emulator, a link controller, and a media transceiver. The media transceiver can be made to support various media such as a backplane, copper cable, optical fiber, or a wireless medium. The UTOPIA extension device preferably includes a UTOPIA inlet buffer, a UTOPIA outlet buffer, an inlet clock decoupling buffer, an outlet clock decoupling buffer, and a flow control module. The UTOPIA inlet and outlet buffers are used for traffic management and the clock decoupling buffers allow the UTOPIA interface emulator and the link controller to operate in different clock domains. The link controller provides error control and backpressure delivery to support flow control.

Abstract:
A method of reducing mosquito noise in a digital image. As mosquito noise is often most plainly visible in the “background” of an image (e. g. , the sky or some other backdrop to objects within an image), the luminance value of the background of the image is first determined. Then, the luminances of the pixels of the image are compared against this “background luminance” to determine which should be considered as part of this background. The luminances of these background pixels are then averaged so as to smooth out the representation of the background, and reduce mosquito noise.

A method and system is provided for reducing mosquito noise in a digital image. The method and system receives an input luminance value for a first pixel in the digital image, and determines whether the first pixel is in relative close proximity to an object appearing in the digital image, based on a comparison of the variation between the input luminance value for the first pixel and luminance values of a first plurality of neighboring pixels. If the first pixel is in relative close proximity to an object, the method performs an average filtering of the input luminance value for the first pixel, based on the luminance values of a second plurality of neighboring pixels, to provide a filtered luminance value for the first pixel.

Abstract:
Content rights holders provide digital content to a hosting site to be used as reference content. The content owner specifies a policy for each digital content item, indicating how that content may be used on the site when uploaded by someone other than the content owner. An identification module compares the uploaded content against reference content. If the content matches reference content, the specified policy for that reference content is applied to the uploaded content. Policy options provided by the content owner include tracking the content to see how it is viewed, preventing the content from being distributed on the site, and allowing the content to be displayed in a revenue-sharing environment. In one embodiment, if the identification module matches the uploaded content to a reference item but the match does not have a sufficiently high level of confidence, the suggested match is queued for review by the content owner.
