View page
US Patent:
7425177, Sep 16, 2008
Filed:
Sep 29, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/953822
Inventors:
Paulina Rodgers - Reno NV, US
Bayard S. Webb - Sparks NV, US
Hans Elias - Reno NV, US
Zeke Brill - Reno NV, US
Assignee:
IGT - Reno NV
International Classification:
G07F 17/32
US Classification:
463 20, 463 16, 463 22, 2731381, 273142 R, 273142 B, 273142 H
Abstract:
A gaming device having multiple interacting independently operated symbol generators, such as wheels. In one embodiment, each wheel includes a plurality of sections that are associated with a plurality of different outcomes which are displayed to a player. One or more of the wheels are activated, either sequentially or simultaneously and the results of the wheel activations influence one or more subsequent wheel activations. Upon a terminating event, an outcome based on the results from one or more spins of one or more of the wheels is provided to the player.

Inventors:
Joseph E. Kaminkow - Reno NV, US
Anthony J. Baerlocher - Reno NV, US
Zeke Brill - Reno NV, US
Hans Elias - Reno NV, US
Paulina Rodgers - Reno NV, US
Kehl T. LeSourd - Reno NV, US
Eric L. Wagner - Sparks NV, US
Christopher D. Carlisle - Reno NV, US
Kirk A. Tedsen - Reno NV, US
Michael MacVittie - Las Vegas NV, US
Assignee:
IGT - Reno NV
International Classification:
A63F 13/00
US Classification:
463 26, 463 16, 463 31
Abstract:
A gaming device system in which a plurality of gaming devices are linked by a common bonus event is provided. In one embodiment, the linked gaming device system includes a shared symbol generation display that is positioned adjacent to each of a plurality of associated gaming devices and has a plurality of sections and values displayed at each section. Upon a triggering of the bonus event, any player eligible to participate in the bonus may achieve an outcome generated from the bonus event including the shared display. When the shared display is activated, it simultaneously generates a separate or individual outcome associated with each of the gaming devices. The outcomes are spatially related to one another so that a random generation of an outcome associated with one gaming device automatically generates random outcomes associated with each gaming device. Each gaming device however receives the outcome only if it has participated in the random generation.

Assignee:
IGT - Reno NV

US Classification:
463 20, 463 16, 463 25, 463 40, 237139, 237143 R
Abstract:
A gaming device includes a symbol generator which includes a plurality of sections. Each of the sections is associated with a symbol. Upon a triggering event, the gaming device determines which symbol to indicate. The gaming device rotates or moves the symbol generator and stops rotating the symbol generator to indicate a first point on the symbol generator. The first point is located between the section associated with the determined symbol and another section adjacent to this section. The gaming device indicates the adjacent section at least once and indicates the section associated with the determined symbol at least once. In one embodiment, the gaming device oscillates the symbol generator back and forth to indicate one section and then the other section to tease the player. The gaming device stops moving or rotating the symbol generator to indicate the section associated with the determined symbol. The gaming device provides an outcome to a player based on the determined symbol.

Gaming Device Having A Re-Triggering Symbol Bonus Scheme With A Bonus Symbol Accumulation And Player Selection Of Accumulation Total

US Patent:
7473174, Jan 6, 2009
Filed:
Sep 29, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/952656
Inventors:
Ryan W. Cuddy - Reno NV, US
Zeke Brill - Reno NV, US
Anthony J. Baerlocher - Reno NV, US
Assignee:
IGT - Reno NV
International Classification:
A63F 9/24
US Classification:
463 20, 463 16
Abstract:
A gaming device with an accumulator that accumulates re-triggering symbols until a pre-determined number of re-triggering symbols are obtained by the player. A variable amount of free activations as well as a variable threshold amount of re-triggering symbols are necessary to re-trigger a secondary game. The gaming device provides a plurality of player selectable selections. Each selection is associated with a number of activations of the symbol generators as well as a number of re-triggering symbols necessary to re-trigger the secondary game. If the player picked threshold of re-triggering the secondary game is satisfied (i. e. , the required amount of re-triggering symbols associated with the player picked selection were accumulated during the provided amount of spins associated with the player picked selection), the gaming device subsequently re-triggers the secondary game and again provides the player a plurality of selectable selections which are each associated with a number of spins of the reels as well as a number of accumulator symbols necessary to re-trigger the secondary game.

A gaming device including at least one award generator which is operable to indicate and provide a player one or more awards associated with the award generator. In one embodiment, based on one or more selections picked by a player, the gaming device is operable to indicate one or more activator symbols from one or more sets of activator symbols. Each activator symbol set includes at least one and preferably a plurality of activator symbols. The award generator is activated and based on the indicated activator symbol, the activated award generator generates one or more awards which are provided to the player.
