US Patent:
20090112178, Apr 30, 2009
Filed:
Oct 24, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/258298
Inventors:
YASHAR BEHZADI - San Francisco CA, US
International Classification:
A61M 5/31
US Classification:
604503, 604 66
Abstract:
Methods are provided for associating a specific one of two or more distinct fluid transfer ports of a patient with a given fluid transfer event of fluid from a parenteral fluid delivery device. Aspects of the methods include establishing a fluid transfer connection between the parenteral fluid delivery device and the patient via one of the two or more distinct fluid transfer ports and transmitting a fluid transfer signal between the parenteral fluid delivery device and a patient associated identifier using the patient's body as a signal conduction medium. Association may result in identification of the fluid transfer port that will be, is being or has been employed for the given fluid transfer event. Also provided are systems for practicing methods of the invention.

Clinical Applications For Electrical Tomography Derived Metrics

View page
US Patent:
20090326397, Dec 31, 2009
Filed:
Jun 26, 2009

Olivier Colliou - Los Gatos CA, US
International Classification:
A61B 5/04
US Classification:
600508
Abstract:
Clinical applications for electrical tomography derived metrics are disclosed. One aspect of the present invention pertains to a method for generating clinical data by processing one or more metrics obtained via an electrical tomography. The method comprises receiving one or more metrics of an electrode stably associated with a tissue site of a subject, where the metrics are based on an induced signal of the electrode generated in response to one or more continuous electrical fields applied to the subject during an electrical tomography process. In addition, the method comprises generating clinical data of the internal organ of the subject based on the metrics.

International Classification:
A61B 1/00
US Classification:
600117
Abstract:
Ingestible event marker systems that include an ingestible event marker (i.e., an IEM) and a personal signal receiver are provided. Embodiments of the IEM include an identifier, which may or may not be present in a physiologically acceptable carrier. The identifier is characterized by being activated upon contact with a target internal physiological site of a body, such as digestive tract internal target site. The personal signal receiver is configured to be associated with a physiological location, e.g., inside of or on the body, and to receive a signal the IEM. During use, the IEM broadcasts a signal which is received by the personal signal receiver.
