An improved one-way fluid valve construction is provided. A valve housing () includes one or more valve ports () and control ports (). A control member () is disposed within the control port (). The control member () is movable within the control port () between a first position and a second position. A control rod () can extend between the control member () and a portion of the valve port (). A control rod coupling () interacts with the control member () to cause a rotational or pivotal movement the control rod () through a predetermined angular arc in response to movement of the control member (). A sealing face () formed on a second portion of the control rod () advantageously forms a seal with an orifice () that separates an input side of the valve port () from an output side. The seal can be formed when the control rod () is in a control rod sealed position. When the control rod () is rotated to a control rod unsealed position, the sealing face unseals from the orifice ().

A compressor valve comprises a valve seat that includes flow channels therein for the fluid medium, a catcher spaced apart from the valve seat and a valve plate which is movable against the valve seat to block the flow of fluid medium through the valve or away from the valve seat and towards the catcher to allow the fluid medium to flow through the valve. In order to prevent the valve plate from sticking to the stop face of the catcher when a liquid such as a lubricant or coolant is in the valve, protrusions and recesses are provided on the surface of the valve plate which faces the catcher or on the stop face against the valve plate moves when the valve is open, stop face being provided on the catcher itself or by the facing surface of an additional plate positioned between the valve plate and the catcher.
