Chain Link Fabric Attaching System

View page
US Patent:
41802470, Dec 25, 1979
Filed:
May 20, 1977
Appl. No.:
5/798749
Inventors:
Walter L. Pfarr - Towson MD
Assignee:
Anchor Post Products, Inc. - Baltimore MD
International Classification:
E44
B21F 2700
US Classification:
256 54
Abstract:
The invention is an improved method and device for attaching chain link fabric to the framework of fences and other such enclosures. In particular, the invention provides a novel and unique method and device for holding chain link fabric to the outside face or surface of said framework. The framework (end post, line post, top rail, and/or bottom rail) is provided with a plurality of slots in the sides of the members of the framework, into which special clips or retainers mesh by press-fit and hold the chain link fabric in place. The said clips or retainers being capable of providing a tight connection to maintain the interface between the chain link fabric and the framework member to which attached one tension on the chain link fabric to keep it taut has been established. Several types of clips are provided that may be used. The system is useable on a variety of framework member cross-sectional designs.

Walter L. Pfarr - Towson MD
Assignee:
Anchor Post Products Inc. - Baltimore MD
International Classification:
B21F 2700
US Classification:
256 47
Abstract:
A new and improved band tensioning device or clamp is provided for securing and maintaining the required tension of chain link fences or the like. This clamp consists of a flat strip of cut metal formed into a U-shape. The closed end of the clamp is placed around a fence post and the two arms with curved ends are pressed together and locked around a tension bar which has been threaded through a chain fabric type fence.

Conductive Insulation Electrical Grounding Or Charging System For Insulation Coated Chain Link Fabric

View page
US Patent:
41544307, May 15, 1979
Filed:
Jul 15, 1977
Appl. No.:
5/798772
Inventors:
Walter L. Pfarr - Towson MD
Assignee:
Anchor Post Products, Inc. - Baltimore MD
International Classification:
H05F 302
E04H 1704
B21F 2710
A01K 300
US Classification:
256 10
Abstract:
The invention is an improved method for electrical grounding of plastics coated chain link fabric that is usually used for fences or similar enclosures. The invention provides a method for grounding by employing an insulating coating containing conductive particles to form a continuous linkage or electrical path through and between all wires that compose the fabric. The said fabric, after said continuous linkage or electrical path is established, is then grounded at various intervals along the length of the fence or enclosure and thus effectively electrically grounds the fabric.
