View page
US Patent:
6375874, Apr 23, 2002
Filed:
Oct 13, 1999
Appl. No.:
09/416787
Inventors:
David B. Russell - Southboro MA
Timothy Anderson - Cambridge MA
James F. Bredt - Watertown MA
Michael J. Vogel - Concord MA
Walter J. Bornhorst - Boston MA
Assignee:
Z Corporation - Somerville MA
International Classification:
B29C 3104
US Classification:
264 28, 264109, 264308, 264113, 264128, 425130, 425210, 425215, 425218
Abstract:
A printer forms three-dimensional objects from a powder by selectively applying a binder liquid to incremental layers of the powder. The binder binds layers of the powder into solid two-dimensional cross sections of the desired object provided from memory. The printer can use dithering and halftoning techniques to shade the object and can also print in color. A filtration system removes airborne powder and recirculates the clean air. The printer also includes additional features to manage excess and airborne powder.

Endotracheal Tube Holder

View page
US Patent:
39760804, Aug 24, 1976
Filed:
Sep 3, 1974
Appl. No.:
5/502692
Inventors:
Walter J. Bornhorst - Acton MA
Steven J. Coleman - Marlboro MA
James W. O'Brien - Waltham MA
Assignee:
Thermo Electron Corporation - Waltham MA
International Classification:
A61M 2500
US Classification:
128348
Abstract:
An endotracheal tube holder comprises a substantially straight projection having a laterally curved, trough-like surface mounted on a base for securing said projection to a person's head such that the projection is adapted to receive in longitudinally aligned relation the protruding end of an endotracheal tube in its applied working position. A pair of laterally opposed tabs at the outer end of the projection serve as stop lugs for preventing a wrapping, such as tape, which binds the tube to the projection from sliding off the projection.

Tennis Shoe Toe Cup

View page
US Patent:
39745783, Aug 17, 1976
Filed:
Jul 23, 1975
Appl. No.:
5/598242
Inventors:
Peter E. Oettinger - Acton MA
Walter J. Bornhorst - Acton MA
International Classification:
A43B 1322
US Classification:
36 72R
Abstract:
This invention discloses a means for protecting the toe of a tennis shoe, and comprises a flexible cup-shaped molded elastomer whose inner and outer surfaces are substantially convex, coaxial surfaces of revolution, and which is attached to the toe of a flexible tennis shoe by an elastic adhesive. The elastomer cup and elastic adhesive are both characterized by flexibility substantially similar to that of the shoe. Some embodiments of the invention include a recessed cross-lined pattern on the inner surface of the cup to promote adhesion to the shoe.
