Slikloc Security System

View page
US Patent:
20060144100, Jul 6, 2006
Filed:
Jan 4, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/029089
Inventors:
Verne Thomsen - Ames NE, US
International Classification:
E05B 65/00
US Classification:
070002000
Abstract:
The SLIKLOC Security System Permanent Locking Hasp has the highest level of anti-theft and anti-tampering design that virtually eliminates opening with a thief's tools of the trade—hacksaws, bolt cutters, large hammers, and pry bars. Most marine and railroad intermodal containers are unsecured or have limited security. Adding the SLIKLOC Security System to these modes of transportation would limit theft and decrease the chance of terrorists using these modes of transportation to damage our homeland.

Slikloc Security System - Kingpin Lock

View page
US Patent:
20060192364, Aug 31, 2006
Filed:
Feb 28, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/067862
Inventors:
Verne Thomsen - Ames NE, US
International Classification:
B60D 1/60
US Classification:
280507000
Abstract:
The SLIKLOC—Kingpin Lock is an anti-theft device used to prevent the theft of semi trailers that are unhooked from the semi tractor. The Kingpin Lock is virtually indestructible from ramming the semi tractor fifth wheel plate into the trailer Kingpin if attempted. The lock is designed to jump over the fifth wheel and lodge in front of the fifth wheel making movement of the tractor virtually impossible. The tractor's wheels will hit the semi dollies making any turns impossible. In addition, the ⅞ inch, 45 degree slant (FIG. ) will have a tendency to catch on the front of the fifth wheel making raising the trailer to free the semi tractor fifth wheel from the trailer very difficult.

Inventors:
Verne Thomsen - Ames NE, US
International Classification:
E05B 67/38
US Classification:
070056000

The first and second lock bodies are aligned such that upon the first and second doors being closed, the bore holes of each are generally concentrically aligned. A locking mechanism is mounted on the second lock body and a locking device including a pin securement block and a locking pin extends through the aligned bore holes with the pin securement block aligning with and engaging the locking mechanism to releasably secure the locking pin in the aligned bore holes thereby securing the first lock body to the second lock body to secure the doors in closed position.
