Aseptic Battery With A Removal Cell Cluster, The Cell Cluster Configured For Charging In A Socket That Receives A Sterilizable Battery

View page
US Patent:
7705559, Apr 27, 2010
Filed:
Jan 27, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/341064
Inventors:
Matt Powell - Galesburg MI, US
Vaughn R. Gerber - Portage MI, US
Ronald Duis - Plainwell MI, US
Assignee:
Stryker Corporation - Kalamazoo MI
International Classification:
H02J 7/00
US Classification:
320113
Abstract:
A battery assembly with a housing that contains a removable battery pack. The housing, which is sterilizable, has a head designed to couple to a power consuming device. The battery pack, which is not sterilizable, contains at least one rechargeable cell. The battery pack has a head dimensioned to fit the same charger socket that can receive a sterilizable battery. The battery pack has contacts that abut charger contacts. The housing has internal contacts. Collectively, the housing and battery pack are shaped so that, when the battery pack seats in the housing, the battery pack contacts abut the housing internal contacts. The housing internal contacts are connected to the housing external contacts for supply power to the power consuming device. A cover selectively holds the battery pack in the housing chamber.

Internally Supercharged Axial Piston Pump

View page
US Patent:
20030084784, May 8, 2003
Filed:
Nov 9, 2001
Appl. No.:
10/038047
Inventors:
Bruce Larkin - Plainwell MI, US
John Jones - Kalamazoo MI, US
Vaughn Gerber - Kalamazoo MI, US
International Classification:
F01B003/00
US Classification:
092/070000
Abstract:
An axial piston pump that enables fluid entering the pump to be precharged without the addition of an auxiliary pumping mechanism or other type of external fluid precharge, comprises a housing having a cylindrical inner wall surface surrounding a barrel chamber, a barrel mounted for rotation within the barrel chamber in the housing and having a plurality of circumferentially spaced piston bores therein, and a plurality of pistons reciprocally movable in the piston bores for pumping fluid from a delivery passage to an exhaust passage. The barrel has at least one and preferably plural impeller vanes projecting radially outwardly and terminating at a radially outer vane edge adjacent the inner wall surface of the barrel chamber. Upon rotation of the barrel, the impeller vanes function to supercharge the fluid supplied to the piston bores.

Electronic Coolant Valve With Flexible Seal

BORGWARNER INC. - Auburn Hills MI
International Classification:
F16K 31/53
US Classification:
137 1, 251264
Abstract:
An electronic coolant valve with a flexible sealing membrane. The membrane is expanded or contracted radially via a drive screw and an electric motor. The extension and retraction of the drive screw changes the shape of the membrane in the flow passage. The membrane can be adjusted to allow full passage of coolant through a passageway, to completely block off (close) the flow channel preventing fluid from flowing through it, or to allow a restricted or metered amount of coolant to pass through the passageway.
