Filed:
Nov 30, 1999
Appl. No.:
09/449895
Inventors:
Uday Shanker Racherla - West Caldwell NJ
Assignee:
Unilever Home Personal Care USA, division of Conopco, Inc. - Greenwich CT
International Classification:
C11D 900
US Classification:
510122, 510123, 510127, 510150, 510152, 510153, 510155, 510156, 510446, 510447, 510450, 510451
Abstract:
The subject invention involves high moisture containing bar compositions comprising required amounts of a borate compound. The borate compound structures water in the bar thereby enabling the retention of high amounts of moisture without compromising bar properties.

Detergent Compositions Containing Polyethyleneimines For Enhanced Peroxygen Bleach Stability

View page
US Patent:
59554150, Sep 21, 1999
Filed:
Aug 4, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/905586
Inventors:
Eddie Gutierrez - Midland Park NJ
Shang-Ren Wu - Shanghai, CN
Uday Racherla - Fort Lee NJ
Robert Vermeer - Nutley NJ
Assignee:
Lever Brothers Company, Division of Conopco, Inc.
International Classification:
C11D 337
C11D 3395
US Classification:
510312
Abstract:
Detergent compositions, essentially free of chlorine bleach compounds, containing a surfactant, builder, enzyme, peroxygen bleach and from about 0. 001% to about 5% by weight polyethyleneimine (PEI) or salts thereof are disclosed. These compositions exhibit controlled and improved bleaching action on stains as well as improved storage stability, fabric safety and whitening/brightening characteristics.

Bleaching With Polyoxometalates And Air Or Molecular Oxygen

View page
US Patent:
60744375, Jun 13, 2000
Filed:
Mar 5, 1999
Appl. No.:
9/264191
Inventors:
Uday Shanker Racherla - West Caldwell NJ
Qin Chen - Westerville OH
Assignee:
Unilever Home & Personal Care USA, Division of Conopco, Inc. - Greenwich CT
International Classification:
D06L 302
US Classification:
8111
Abstract:
A method for bleaching laundry and household surfaces is provided which iudes preparing a wash medium with a bleaching composition incorporating polyoxometalates and being free of any effective amount of a bleaching agent such as hydrogen peroxide, organic peracids, inorganic peracids, organic persalts, inorganic persalts, Caro's acid, Caroates and mixtures thereof. A second step involves contacting a stained substrate such as a fabric, kitchenware or a household hard surface for a time and in an amount sufficient to remove the stains. Air is employed as a primary source of oxygen atoms for bleaching.

Detergent Compositions Containing Polyethyleneimines For Enhanced Stain Removal

View page
US Patent:
59047356, May 18, 1999
Filed:
Aug 4, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/905581
Inventors:
Eddie Gutierrez - Midland Park NJ
Shang-Ren Wu - Shanghai, CN
Uday Racherla - Fort Lee NJ
Robert Vermeer - Nutley NJ
Assignee:
Lever Brothers Company - New York NY
International Classification:
C11D1/40;7/22
US Classification:
8137
Abstract:
Detergent compositions, essentially free of peroxygen or chlorine bleach compounds, containing a surfactant, builder, enzyme and from about 0. 001% to about 5% by weight polyethyleneimine (PEI) or salts thereof are disclosed. These compositions provide enhanced removal of organic stains, particularly on polyphenolic stains such as morello juice (cherry juice), blueberry juice, red wine, tea and coffee. Improvement was also demonstrated on certain non-polyphenolic stains such as grass.

Bleaching Compositions And Method For Bleaching Substrates Directly With Air

View page
US Patent:
61178330, Sep 12, 2000
Filed:
Dec 16, 1998
Appl. No.:
9/212621
Inventors:
Uday Shanker Racherla - West Caldwell NJ
Robert Charles Vermeer - Nutley NJ
Assignee:
Lever Brothers Company - New York NY
International Classification:
C11D 300
C11D 3395
D06L 302
US Classification:
510367
Abstract:
A bleach composition and a method for bleaching stains is provided, the composition including a C. sub. 7 -C. sub. 20 aromatic aldehyde and an imide, the latter being particularly N-hydroxyphthalimide. Air is employed as a source of oxygen which combines with the aldehyde to form the bleach active species. Peroxides, inorganic persalts and bleach precursors are unnecessary elements for the bleach systems of this invention.
