Electronic Noise Suppressor

View page
US Patent:
46564519, Apr 7, 1987
Filed:
Jan 23, 1986
Appl. No.:
6/821782
Inventors:
Thomas F. Pomponio - Rochester NY
Assignee:
Ferronics, Inc. - East Rochester NY
International Classification:
H01F 1706
H01F 2726
H01F 2730
US Classification:
336 96
Abstract:
An electronic noise suppressor has a U-shaped wire or other conductor passing through two stacked ferrite beads. The bead near the legs of the conductor is of high frequency impedance and the bead at the head of the U is of low frequency impedance. The legs of the U-shaped conductor are connected into an electronic circuit in which noise is to be suppressed.

Ferrimagnetic Materials With Temperature Stability And Method Of Manufacturing

View page
US Patent:
60568909, May 2, 2000
Filed:
Apr 23, 1998
Appl. No.:
9/065890
Inventors:
Weilong Cai - Rochester NY
Thomas F. Pomponio - Rochester NY
Assignee:
Ferronics Incorporated
International Classification:
C04B 3526
C04B 3538
C04B 3564
US Classification:
252 6256
Abstract:
A ferrite having a substantially continuous range of grain sizes in a substantially uniform distribution throughout the range of grain size, wherein no single grain size represents more than approximately 10% of the total grains. A method of forming a ferrite is disclosed wherein a first composition which yields a first grain size range upon sintering is combined with a second composition which yields a second different grain size range upon sintering to form a composite, and the composite is sintered to form the ferrite which exhibits a relatively temperature stable behavior within an extended temperature range.

Method For Establishing A Target Magnetic Permeability In A Ferrite

View page
US Patent:
56457740, Jul 8, 1997
Filed:
Jan 23, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/376758
Inventors:
Steven T. Reczek - Penfield NY
Alexander Rozin - E. Rochester NY
Thomas F. Pomponio - Rochester NY
Assignee:
Ferronics Incorporated - Fairport NY
International Classification:
B28B 1100
US Classification:
264 401
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for establishing the magnetic permeability of a batch ferrites at a predetermined target permeability. Ferrite parts are sintered to achieve a magnetic permeability greater than the target permeability. The sintered parts are then tumbled to suppress the magnetic permeability below the target permeability. The parts are then exposed to a chemical wash to increase the magnetic permeability and continuously monitored to allow setting the magnetic permeability at the target permeability.
