Single-Pole Electrical Connector Having A Steel Retaining Spring

View page
US Patent:
7658657, Feb 9, 2010
Filed:
Feb 26, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/379706
Inventors:
Thomas L. Scanzillo - Monroe CT, US
Thomas W. Bracci - Trumbull CT, US
Assignee:
Hubbell Incorporated - Orange CT
International Classification:
H01R 11/22
US Classification:
439825, 439839
Abstract:
A male plug of a single-pole electrical connector assembly includes a non-conductive housing and a conductive contact having first and second ends disposed in the housing. The first end is adapted to receive an electrical cable and the second end is adapted to engage a corresponding female contact. An axially extending slot is formed in the contact and extends toward the first end of the contact from the second end. The slot forms first and second slotted portions of the contact. A spring disposed proximal the second end of the contact substantially prevents yielding of the first and second slotted portions of the contact and biases the first and second slotted portions radially outwardly.

Lift Cover And Gasket Assembly

US Patent:
7709735, May 4, 2010
Filed:
Apr 11, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/081237
Inventors:
Thomas J. Vigorito - Black Rock CT, US
Thomas W. Bracci - Trumbull CT, US
Assignee:
Hubbell Incorporated - Orange CT
International Classification:
H02G 3/14
US Classification:
174 67, 174 66, 174 53, 220241, 220242, 439536, D13156
Abstract:
An electrical box assembly includes a cover assembly, a gasket and an electrical box coupled together by mounting screws. The cover includes a base with a plurality of screw holes for receiving the mounting screws. A support member having an axial passage extends from the bottom face of the cover around each of the screw holes. The gasket includes a cylindrical shaped sleeve that passes through the support member and has an axial length to extend from the screw hole in the cover. The mounting screws are inserted through the axial passage of the sleeve and the screw holes in the cover to axially compress the sleeve to form a watertight seal between the screw shaft and the support member.

Weather Resistant Electrical Connector

US Patent:
7857647, Dec 28, 2010
Filed:
Apr 9, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/099903
Inventors:
Thomas W. Bracci - Trumbull CT, US
Thomas J. Vigorito - Black Rock CT, US
Assignee:
Hubbell Incorporated - Shelton CT
International Classification:
H01R 13/52
US Classification:
439282, 439587, 439274, 439462
Abstract:
An electrical connector is provided including a housing supporting an electrical device and for receiving an electrical cord or cable. A cap having internal threads and an axial passage for receiving the electrical cord and clamping the electrical cord to the housing to form a waterproof connection. The cap includes a conical shaped seal member for forming a waterproof seal with the outer surface of the electrical cord. A conical shaped bushing is received in a frustoconical shaped bore of the housing and is axially and radially compressed by the threaded cap onto the housing. The bushing has an axial bore for receiving the electrical cable and an outer surface with at least one annular recess to facilitate the axial and radial compression of the bushing. The bottom end of the cap has a chamfered edge which mates with a frustoconical shaped outer surface of the housing to form a waterproof seal.

Resectoscope With Curved Electrode Channel And Resiliently Deflectable Electrode Section

US Patent:
58579621, Jan 12, 1999
Filed:
Mar 13, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/816546
Inventors:
Thomas W. Bracci - Trumbull CT
Edward A. Grabover - Brookfield CT
Naum Metelitsa - Stamford CT
Richard P. Muller - Bronx NY
Assignee:
Circon Corporation - Goleta CA
International Classification:
A61B 100
US Classification:
600105
Abstract:
A resectoscope with a working element and an electrode. The working element has a movable actuator assembly with a receiving area for receiving a proximal end of the electrode. The receiving area has an entrance, a plug area, and a curved section between the entrance and the plug area. The electrode has a proximal end with a connection section for connection to an electrical plug connector in the plug area. The proximal end also has a flexible section next to the connection section. The flexible section resiliently deforms along the curved section of the receiving area in the actuator assembly.
