Pipe Clamp

View page
US Patent:
54780330, Dec 26, 1995
Filed:
Apr 19, 1994
Appl. No.:
8/229670
Inventors:
Charles S. Hungerford - Woodbury CT
International Classification:
F16L 308
US Classification:
248 743
Abstract:
An inventive pipe clamp is disclosed which includes a base having support elements extending outwardly therefrom and a deflection means connected to the support elements for deflecting and facilitating the securement of a pipe in the clamp and the release of the pipe from the clamp. The deflection means may include relief means disposed thereon for facilitating deflection conducive to pipe installation and removal. A deflection means is preferably attached to each of the support elements. The invention also includes two clamp means having upper and lower ends wherein each of the clamp means is preferably attached at its lower end to one of the deflection means. The upper end of each of the clamp means has locking means for connecting the clamp means together. The pipe clamp is preferably formed from a unitary and continuous sheet of metal which allows for lower manufacturing costs and thus, a more economical clamp.

Device For Supporting A Plurality Of Pipes In Parallel Relationship Within A Defined Space

View page
US Patent:
50487752, Sep 17, 1991
Filed:
Jun 18, 1990
Appl. No.:
7/539128
Inventors:
Charles S. Hungerford - Woodbury CT
International Classification:
E21F 1702
US Classification:
248 62
Abstract:
A device for supporting a plurality of pipes or the like in parallel relationship within a defined space comprises a support bracket which receives a plurality of clamping members wherein a support bracket is readily secured to a structural member.

Connector For Facilitating A Connection Between A Channel Member And A Support Member

View page
US Patent:
53757980, Dec 27, 1994
Filed:
Jul 6, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/908362
Inventors:
Charles S. Hungerford - Woodbury CT
International Classification:
F16B 3704
US Classification:
248 58
Abstract:
A connector comprises first and second opposed, spaced apart locking lugs having first and second opposed, spaced apart faces between which the channel member is clamped. A flexible connection integral with the opposed faces of the locking lugs joins the locking lugs together in a unitary structure in a manner which allows for the space between the opposed faces of the locking lugs to be varied. The first and second locking lugs are provided with axially aligned bores which, when securing the connector to the channel member, receive a fastener for drawing the opposed faces of the locking lugs toward one another when the fastener is advanced into the axially aligned bores for clamping the channel member in between the opposed locking lugs of the connector.

Connector Device For Supporting A Conduct In A Flanged Channel

View page
US Patent:
46625909, May 5, 1987
Filed:
May 5, 1986
Appl. No.:
6/859332
Inventors:
Charles S. Hungerford - Woodbury CT
International Classification:
F16L 324
US Classification:
248 72
Abstract:
A quick operating connector assembly for securing a cable or conduit to a support channel. The device having a central post supporting two sets of opposed parallel locking lungs extending from the post. The post is formed with a slit and a bore intersecting the slit, such that a fastener means received in advance into the bore would effectively open the slit.

Bracket For Holding Pipe Clamps

View page
US Patent:
47638672, Aug 16, 1988
Filed:
Jun 8, 1987
Appl. No.:
7/059494
Inventors:
Charles S. Hungerford - Woodbury CT
International Classification:
F16L 308
US Classification:
248544
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a bracket for holding one or more clamps for supporting one or more tubular members such as pipes, conduits or cables. The bracket comprises a substantially planar base portion having a plurality of spring elements joined thereto with each spring element being capable of engaging a slotted portion of a pipe clamp. Each spring element includes a corrugated portion for forming a snug fit with the slotted portion of the clamp and a notched tip portion for receiving a tool for assisting in moving the spring element relative to the strip.
