Abstract:
An energy system includes an energy storage device and a link device. The energy storage device includes a housing and a battery disposed within the housing. The battery has a first chemistry. The link device is configured to facilitate electrically coupling the energy storage device to an external battery having a second chemistry different than the first chemistry, receive input power from the external battery, and regulate a power profile of the input power received from the external battery such that the energy storage device can accept the input power from the external battery. The energy storage device is configured to receive the input power from the external battery having the second chemistry through the link device and provide output power to a load using the input power received from the external battery having the second chemistry

Abstract:
An energy storage and power supply device includes a housing defining an internal cavity configured to receive a battery, a top portion coupled to the housing, and a module. The top portion has an outer periphery including a first face and an opposing second face. The top portion defines a slot that extends entirely across the top portion and through the outer periphery such that the slot defines a first aperture in the first face and a second aperture in the opposing second face. The module is removably received by the slot. The module has a first end that is received by the first aperture and an opposing second end that is received by the second aperture when disposed in the slot.

An energy storage system includes a first energy storage device having a first energy storage chemistry, a second energy storage device having a second energy storage chemistry different than the first energy storage chemistry, and a link device. Abstract:
An energy storage and power supply device includes an energy storage unit, a sensor, an output, a regulator, and a processing circuit. The energy storage unit is configured to store electrical energy. The sensor is positioned to acquire data indicative of an operating characteristic of the energy storage unit. The output is coupled to the energy storage unit and configured to provide power from the energy storage unit to a load. The regulator is positioned along a power flow path between the energy storage unit and the output. The regulator is configured to facilitate selectively restricting a power flow provided to the output. The processing circuit is configured to monitor the operating characteristic of the energy storage unit based on data from the sensor and provide a signal to the regulator to restrict the power flow provided to the output in response to the operating characteristic satisfying a threshold.
