Abstract:
A cosmetic dispenser with a bottle and an applicator wand retained for slidable extension and retraction relative to the bottle. The applicator wand can be slid from a retracted position wherein a cosmetic applicator is retained within the bottle and an extended position wherein the cosmetic applicator projects through an aperture at a distal end of the bottle. A lateral dividing structure, which can be formed by an adapter insert and a rear seal, slidably receives the applicator wand and divides the inner volume of the bottle into a distal inner volume and a proximal inner volume. A laterally disposed distal wiping wiper with a plurality of radial slits can wipe a distal end of the cosmetic applicator, and a side wiping wiper with an inner throat can wipe a peripheral portion of the cosmetic applicator. A cap with a plug can matingly engage the side wiping wiper.

Filed:
Nov 26, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/324322
Inventors:
Thomas F. Holloway - Southbury CT, US
Frederick J. Dobbins - Prospect CT, US
Stephen G. Dudienski - Ansonia CT, US
Raymond P. Legassie - Laconia NH, US
Assignee:
HCP Packaging USA, Inc. - Shelton CT
International Classification:
A46B 3/04
B23P 11/00
US Classification:
132218, 15160, 29428
Abstract:
A brush assembly with an applicator rod, a brush sleeve with a tubular core member and a plurality of bristles, a rod hole in the distal end of the applicator rod, and a rivet for being received into the rod hole to retain the brush sleeve. A peripheral retaining wall can retain and protect a proximal end of the brush sleeve. The brush sleeve can have radially projecting, diamond-shaped bristles and can be slidably received over a body portion of the rivet or over a support stem forming a distal portion of the applicator rod. The body portion of the rivet or the support stem can have a non-circular cross section or an arcuate longitudinal profile to induce the brush sleeve to have the non-circular cross section or acruate longitudinal profile. A method for producing brush assemblies can produce brush assemblies with brush sleeves of varied cross sections.

US Patent:
20130276817, Oct 24, 2013
Filed:
Apr 24, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/869794
Inventors:
Thomas F. Holloway - Southbury CT, US
Stephen G. Dudienski - Ansonia CT, US
International Classification:
A45D 40/26
US Classification:
132320
Abstract:
A cosmetic applicator with a paddle-shaped applicator tip for retaining and applying a volume of cosmetic material. The applicator tip has a paddle-shaped head portion with first and second opposed, egg-shaped oval faces separated by a thickness of the head portion. The head portion of the applicator tip is retained by a neck portion that is retained by a base rod. An applicator wand, which can have a cap fixed thereto, retains the base rod and the applicator tip in general. The head and neck portions of the applicator tip can be enveloped in applicator material, such as bristles or fibers applied by flocking, for retaining and applying cosmetic material. A cosmetic bottle with a flexible wiper can selectively receive the applicator tip for wiping excess cosmetic material from the applicator tip.

Refillable Cosmetic Compact

View page
US Patent:
20200305577, Oct 1, 2020
Filed:
Mar 28, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/368298
Inventors:
- Shelton CT, US
Stephen G. Dudienski - Ansonia CT, US
International Classification:
A45D 40/22
A45D 33/00
Abstract:
A refillable cosmetic compact with a product base insert repositionable in relation to a base structure between an engaged configuration and a disengaged configuration. An actuation opening through the base structure permits a pressing of a release button of the product base insert to induce the product base insert from the engaged to the disengaged configuration. Resiliently deflectable catch members project longitudinally from either or both of the base structure and the product base insert. Converging deflection surfaces engage the catch members as the product base insert is repositioned from the disengaged configuration to the engaged configuration to deflect the catch members laterally inwardly to retain a cosmetic pan and to permit a deflection of the catch members laterally outwardly as the product base insert is repositioned from the engaged configuration to the disengaged configuration to release or receive a cosmetic pan.
