Hanging File System For Cds And Dvds

View page
US Patent:
7156232, Jan 2, 2007
Filed:
Mar 8, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/795785
Inventors:
Sheldon Holson - Norwalk CT, US
International Classification:
B65D 85/00
US Classification:
206425, 206311, 206312
Abstract:
A hanging file system for compact disks and other small planar objects is provided. The system includes hanging file folders that are shrunken compared to standard letter sized or legal sized hanging file folders. The hanging file folder has open sides and two permanently fixed hangers. The hangers are separated by a fixed length which is less than 11 inches. An envelope can be used in conjunction with the hanging file folders to protect each compact disk stored in the hanging file folder. Thus, several CDs in their envelopes can be accommodated in each hanging file folder without risk of scratching. An identifying tab and label can be provided for each folder. A printed insert piece can be included in each folder along with compact disks. An adapter can be used to turn a standard letter or legal filing drawer into a drawer for holding at least two rows of hanging files for CDs. Alternatively, a portable container is provided sized for carrying the shrunken hanging file folders and their CDs.

Sleeved Photo Album Page And Means And Method For Making Same

US Patent:
40199371, Apr 26, 1977
Filed:
Apr 5, 1976
Appl. No.:
5/673448
Inventors:
Sheldon Holson - Norwalk CT
Assignee:
The Holson Company - Wilton CT
International Classification:
B31B 2360
B31B 2374
US Classification:
156 731
Abstract:
The application discloses a means and method for manufacture and assembly of a known pivotally mounted sleeve-type photographic print display device. The display device comprises a relatively rigid planar cardboard base to which there are pivotally attached to at least one surface thereof in mutually staggered relation, a plurality of individual open-ended flattened sleeves, each having a paper insert of congruent dimensions. Attachment to the base is by an adhesive strip which forms a hinge. The method of manufacture and assembly includes the steps of forming a continuous web comprising a paper strip enclosed by a strip of clear synthetic resinous material forming a fold edge and a pair of oppositely disposed abutted longitudinal edges, sealing the abutted edges to form a continuous sleeve, applying a continuous strip of adhesive material to one surface of said sleeve in the area of said abutted edges to extend laterally therefrom and expose an unadhered adhesive surface, cutting the web transversely at uniform intervals to form individual sleeve elements, providing a jigging structure for receiving a predetermined number of individual sleeve elements in mutually spaced parallel relation with exposed portions of said adhesive strip projecting outwardly therefrom, and pressing said jigging structure against a surface of a base element to adhere the projecting portions of the adhesive strips thereto. The means for accomplishing the above steps semi-automatically includes an elongated guide element for assembling the continuous web, an ultrasonic sealing means for sealing the above-mentioned abutted edges, means for laminating the adhesive strip thereto, means severing the web and feeding the severed segments thereof in timed relation with the advancement of said jigging means past a loading station.

Filed:
May 10, 1979
Appl. No.:
6/037701
Inventors:
Sheldon Holson - Norwalk CT
Assignee:
The Holson Company - Wilton CT
International Classification:
B29C 2708
B32B 306
B42F 504
US Classification:
156 731
Abstract:
A photographic album page comprising a fibrous centrally disposed lamina and a pair of overlying clear synthetic resinous laminae. Pockets are formed by ultrasonic sealing of the clear laminae together through the fibrous lamina which disintegrates under the generated heat of sealing. The pockets are thus formed as a continuous sealing operation at the same time the page is laminated by sealing in broken lines, whereby the fibrous lamina retains its structural integrity.
