Abstract:
Representative embodiments of a server-based method of facilitating payment by a user registered with the server include, at the server, generating and storing, for the user, a code readable by a merchant device, transmitting the code to a mobile device of the user, facilitating provision of information characterizing a payment instrument from the user to a payment-processing entity without storing the data at the server, receiving, from the payment-processing entity, a token indicative of the payment instrument but not encoding data that would enable use of the instrument, associating the token with the user, receiving, from a merchant, the code and a payment amount, matching the received code to the user and retrieving the token associated with the user, and providing the token and the payment amount to the payment-processing entity to facilitate completion of a transaction between the user and the merchant.

Abstract:
A computer-implemented method and system are provided for generating and managing a customized interactive multiplayer location-based mobile game. The method includes the steps of: (a) receiving at a computer system content and high-level game logic from a game designer to be used in developing a location-based mobile game; (b) generating a playable location-based mobile game based on the content and high-level game logic using the computer system; (c) registering using the computer system a plurality of players desiring to play the multiplayer location-based mobile game using their personal mobile communications devices; and (d) managing execution of the game for each player or group of players by routing the player or group of players to a plurality of locations to perform a location-based task at each location, and interacting with the player or group of players after each of the location-based tasks has been performed, wherein managing execution of the game and interacting with the player or group of players comprises using the computer system to communicate with a personal mobile communications device of the player or group of players.

Abstract:
A method for providing advertisements to users of mobile devices, includes the steps of: (a) providing a plurality of advertisements and geographic region information associated with each advertisement; (b) receiving from a mobile content provider a request for an advertisement to be delivered to a user of a mobile device along with non-standard data from which the location of the mobile device can be determined; (c) processing the non-standard data to determine the location of the mobile device; (d) identifying a subset of advertisements from the plurality of advertisements having geographic region information matching the location of the mobile device; (e) ranking the advertisements in the subset of advertisements in accordance with one or more parameters; and (f) selecting an advertisement from the ranked advertisements to be transmitted to the mobile content provider for delivery to the mobile device of the user.

Abstract:
A method of conducting retailing promotions uses a computerized retailing promotion system communicating with client devices operated by a plurality of consumers and merchants over a communications network. The method includes the steps of: (a) selling vouchers to consumers operating client devices using the computerized retailing promotion system, each voucher including a deal at one of a plurality of sequential levels that can be redeemed by a consumer at a merchant for a specified product or service, wherein a consumer is entitled to purchase a voucher having a deal at a higher level only if the consumer has purchased a voucher having a deal at an immediately lower level; and (b) for each consumer redemption of a voucher at a merchant: (i) receiving notification at the computerized retailing promotion system from the merchant when the consumer redeems the voucher; (ii) making a payment to the merchant using the computerized retailing promotion system; (iii) unlocking a deal at the next sequential level, if available, and enabling the consumer to purchase a voucher for that deal; and (iv) repeating steps (i) to (iii) until deals at all levels of a promotion have been sold to the consumer.

A “no-touch” mobile checkout experience frees consumers from the need to manually locate and activate a mobile payment application in order to complete a transaction.
