A spoon includes a handle and trough for containing food. The trough includes a flexible wall extended from a peripheral edge for assisting in containing the food when the spoon is tilted from the horizontal. The flexible wall collapses when the spoon is placed in the mouth.

Breast Biopsy And Therapy System For Magnetic Resonance Imagers

View page
US Patent:
6889073, May 3, 2005
Filed:
May 2, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/847641
Inventors:
David A. Lampman - Mayfield Hts OH, US
Nick Mastandrea - Mayfield Hts OH, US
Scott Thomason - Mayfield Hts OH, US
International Classification:
A61B005/05
US Classification:
600422, 600424
Abstract:
The present invention describes a device for performing breast biopsies and/or therapy within magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems. The apparatus includes a RF receiver antenna for magnetic resonance imaging of the breast. The RF coil includes openings in the front and side to provide access to the breast during the procedure. Compression plates are integrated into the breast coil which compress the breast either laterally or in the head/feet direction as required for optimal access to the breast. The apparatus includes a mechanical device for positioning interventional instruments in the breast such as biopsy or therapy instruments. The mechanical positioning devices position the instrument along the desired trajectory to the target site and insert the instrument into the breast while the patient remains inside the MRI scanner. Real time MR images may be acquired during instrument alignment and insertion to verify the trajectory. The mechanical positioning devices allow manipulation of instruments in any type of MRI scanner, including high field MRI systems with cylindrical magnets.

Automatic Body Spray System

US Patent:
8201288, Jun 19, 2012
Filed:
Aug 24, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/546056
Inventors:
Scott R. Thomason - Macedonia OH, US
Nicholas J. Mastandrea - Chardon OH, US
Assignee:
Sunless, Inc. - Macedonia OH
International Classification:
A47K 3/00
A47K 1/04
A61M 35/00
A45D 44/00
US Classification:
4615, 4619, 604289, 132333
Abstract:
A booth for automatic spray application of multiple liquids onto a human subject may include an HVLP nozzle including a nozzle tip, an air inlet port connected to an air pathway, a linear slide operably connected to a motor and to the HVLP nozzle, a plurality of check valves, and a controller, where the controller is operably connected to the motor and configured to cause the motor to move the HVLP nozzle vertically along at least a portion of the linear slide thereby adjusting the vertical position of the nozzle tip, where the controller is further configured to control an air source for causing air to flow through the air pathway, and where the controller is further configured to control one or more liquid sources for causing the first liquid associated with the first liquid inlet port from the multiple liquid inlet ports to flow through the first liquid inlet port from the multiple liquid inlet ports and the second liquid associated with the second liquid inlet port from the multiple liquid inlet ports to flow through the second liquid inlet port from the multiple liquid inlet ports.

Hand Held Skin Treatment Spray System With Proportional Air And Liquid Control

View page
US Patent:
8486030, Jul 16, 2013
Filed:
Oct 22, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/910754
Inventors:
Scott Thomason - Macedonia OH, US
Steven C. Cooper - Athens GA, US
Assignee:
Sunless, Inc. - Macedonia OH
International Classification:
A61F 7/00
B05B 1/24
US Classification:
604291, 239133
Abstract:
A spray nozzle system includes separate air outlets to deliver one or more streams of supplemental warming or drying air. The air may be applied while spray is emitted from the nozzle to increase the spray cloud temperature, or may be applied for warming or drying before or after the spray application, with the spray turned off. In the case of air-atomizing nozzles, the air is delivered through low pressure ports separately from the atomizing or pattern shaping air to minimize the expansion cooling effect. In another implementation, the air is redirected from the nozzle using a control valve which proportions the amount of airflow directed for atomization, pattern shaping and drying.

Automatic Body Spray System Excess Liquid Removal

View page
US Patent:
8545461, Oct 1, 2013
Filed:
Jul 15, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/837134
Inventors:
Scott Thomason - Macedonia OH, US
Nicholas J Mastandrea - Chardon OH, US
Assignee:
Sunless, Inc. - Macedonia OH
International Classification:
A61M 35/00
B05B 15/12
A47K 3/28
US Classification:
604289, 454 50, 4600
Abstract:
An embodiment of an apparatus for extracting excess liquid in a human body spray system includes a spray booth defining a booth volume. The spray booth includes a base configured to support the human body and a column having walls extending vertically from the base and at least one vent opening disposed on a bottom half portion of the column on at least one of the walls. The walls form a hollow interior of the column. The apparatus for extracting excess liquid in a human body spray system further includes an extraction fan disposed within the hollow interior adjacent to a top half portion of the column and configured to create a low pressure volume within the hollow interior and draw air flow and at least some of the excess mist from the booth volume through the at least one vent opening.
