Abstract:
A flexible chair back comprising a back supporting surface that is defined by a plurality of generally downwardly directed curvilinear shaped openings arranged in a vertical array. Each of the curvilinear openings is around the next adjacent lower curvilinear opening so that they define a plurality of upwardly directed back supporting members. The back supporting members bend to follow the curvature of the back.

Abstract:
An ergonomic chair comprising a frame having outer and inner peripheries and an upper surface. A mesh supporting surface is supported on the outer periphery of the frame. The mesh supporting surface deflects to at least a first predetermined angle when a person is sitting on the chair. The inner periphery of the frame is located below the angle of deflection of the mesh so that the mesh does not engage the inner periphery when it supports a person sits on the chair.

Abstract:
A positioning mechanism is provided that does not require a biasing member to allow adjustment and maintenance of a position. A first member is provided with a channel forming locking positions and a return channel. A second member, slidably movable with respect to the first member, is provided to mount a rotatable cog. The cog interfaces with the channel of the first member to selectively inhibit relative movement between the first and second members without use of a biasing member.

An equipoise arm assembly for supporting an article in equipoise with a support arm, a proximal arm joint, a distal arm joint for supporting an article either directly or through a second support arm, a spring arrangement including a spring member with a distal end coupled to a body portion of the support arm and a proximal end pivotally retained to pivot about an effective pivot axis to create a spring force moment arm of a given length whereby the spring arrangement will tend to provide a resistive torque in support to the support arm, and an arrangement for altering the effective pivot axis of the spring arrangement to change the length of the spring force moment arm.
