Locking Cable Actuator

View page
US Patent:
8096570, Jan 17, 2012
Filed:
Oct 19, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/907054
Inventors:
Richard E Schneider - Cheyenne WY, US
Harlan H Hart - Madera CA, US
Samuel D Traxinger - Fresno CA, US
Assignee:
Sunrise Medical (US) LLC - Fresno CA
International Classification:
A61G 5/10
F16C 1/12
B60T 7/10
US Classification:
2803041, 745022
Abstract:
A cable actuator comprises a housing, a handle, and a locking pin. The handle is pivotally connected to the housing and is moveable between a released position and a locked position. The handle has a slot that terminates in a locking detent. The locking pin has a first end configured to pass through the slot and a second end configured to engage the locking detent. The locking pin is biased toward engagement with the locking detent such that when the lever is pivoted to the locked position, the locking detent aligns with the locking pin permitting the second end to engage the locking detent.

Abstract:
A personal mobility vehicle includes an base unit having a frame and front and rear pivot arms pivotally mounted at respective front and rear pivot points. The front and rear pivot arms support casters. A drive unit having a ground engaging mid-wheel drive wheel is connected to the frame. A linkage connects the front and rear pivot arms to each other in a manner such that an upward or downward rotation of one of the pivot arms about its pivot point causes rotation of the other pivot arm about its pivot point in an opposite rotational direction. The base unit may also include a drive unit that is pivotally supported on the base unit by a torque arm and a suspension system that includes a suspension stop. The torque arm selectively disengages the suspension stop to allow movement of the front caster wheel in response to the terrain traversed.

US Patent:
20050118048, Jun 2, 2005
Filed:
Jun 7, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/862916
Inventors:
Samuel Traxinger - Selma CA, US
International Classification:
F04B043/08
US Classification:
417477200, 604111000
Abstract:
A cartridge or cassette adapted to be attached to an apparatus for controlling the flow of fluid to and from a surgical handpiece. The cassette includes irrigation and aspiration fluid-flow paths and consisting of interconnected tubing having inlet and outlet port's associated with the case of the cassette that are accessible for attachment to fluid and vacuum sources. The rear cover of the case includes cutouts enabling the cassette to be releasably and registerably attached to a surgical instrument. A sensor on the instrument engages a portion of the cassette to verify that the cassette is correctly positioned and is appropriate for use with the instrument. Locking means on the instrument releasably engage the cassette in position. Irrigation fluid may be redirected into the aspiration channel of the handpiece in response to a reflux signal.

Wheelchair Suspension System

View page
US Patent:
20060076747, Apr 13, 2006
Filed:
Oct 6, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/244933
Inventors:
Darryl Pauls - Visalia CA, US
Samuel Traxinger - Fresno CA, US
International Classification:
B60G 9/00
US Classification:
280124110
Abstract:
A wheelchair has a suspension system that includes a front caster housing mounted forward of a wheelchair frame by means of a front linkage. The front caster housing supports a front caster. A drive wheel pivot arm, on which a mid-wheel-drive drive wheel is mounted, is itself mounted for pivoting with respect to the frame. A flexible tension member is connected to both the drive wheel pivot arm and the front linkage. The mounting of the flexible tension member is configured so that rotation of the drive wheel pivot arm in a downward direction applies tension to the flexible tension member, causing the upper link to rotate upward, and thereby lifting the caster housing and the front caster.
