View page
US Patent:
55536921, Sep 10, 1996

Jan 17, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/373067
Inventors:
Samuel R. Sheiman - Rockville Center NY
Assignee:
Crest Lock Co., Inc. - Brooklyn NY
International Classification:
A45C 514
A45C 1326
US Classification:
190 18A
Abstract:

Luggage Roller

View page
US Patent:
43217273, Mar 30, 1982
Filed:
Jul 14, 1980
Appl. No.:
6/167795
Inventors:
Samuel R. Sheiman - New York NY
Julius Sheiman - New York NY
International Classification:
B60B 3300
A47B 9100
A43C 500
US Classification:
16 18R
Abstract:
A luggage roller featuring a diabolo-shaped wheel, which is preferably detachable from the piece of luggage, i. e. a container, to which it is mounted. The diabolo-shaped wheel is more stable than prior art configurations, because of its greater effective width leading to greater bearing area. The detachable feature of the wheel leads to changeability of the luggage roller wheel when wear occurs, so that the piece of luggage does not have to be discarded when the installed wheel wears down. This detachable feature is typically attained by providing an axle on which the wheel is mounted which is detachable from the container. The axle is generally of one of several alternative configurations in which a threaded connection is provided between portions of the axle assemblage, so that one portion of part of the axle assemblage may be unscrewed from the other portion or part.

Arrangement For Securely Holding Garment Hangers Within Garment Bags

View page
US Patent:
47829478, Nov 8, 1988
Filed:
May 7, 1987
Appl. No.:
7/046724
Inventors:
Samuel R. Sheiman - Brooklyn NY
Assignee:
Crest Lock Co. Inc. - New York NY
International Classification:
A45C 512
B65D 8518
US Classification:
206279
Abstract:
Garment hangers are suspendably and slidably supported on stationary support rails mounted to and below a top plate mounted to an interior top wall of a garment bag. The hangers are locked in position on the stationary rail by either pivoting a track extension from an initial aligned position with the rail to a blocking position transverse to the rail, or by clamping the hangers by a clamp which moves in a rectilinear direction toward and away from the rail.

Non-Readily Detachable Luggage Support Unit

View page
US Patent:
44222122, Dec 27, 1983
Filed:
Jul 7, 1981
Appl. No.:
6/281074
Inventors:
Julius Sheiman - New York NY
Samuel Sheiman - New York NY
International Classification:
B60B 3300
US Classification:
16 29
Abstract:
A detachable luggage-supporting, ground-engaging convertible accessory unit comprises a base member and at least one slide member which is guided for sliding movement on the base member. The base member is secured to a piece of luggage. A caster roller device is mounted on one slide member to form a caster roller assembly. A runner skid is connected to another slide member to form a skid-type runner assembly. A cantilever leaf spring on the base member snappingly engages each slide member for interconnecting the base member and the respective slide member with snap-type action. An access opening is formed on each slide member to expose the spring to permit a disassembly tool to remove the slide member from the base member, to thereby effect the rapid interchange of one caster roller assembly for another, or for the skid-type runner assembly. The slide member covers the spring except at the access opening so that the members are not readily detachable during luggage transport.

Hinge Clip

View page
US Patent:
41411072, Feb 27, 1979
Filed:
Aug 16, 1977
Appl. No.:
5/825088
Inventors:
Samuel R. Sheiman - Brooklyn NY
Julius Sheiman - North Woodmere NY
Assignee:
Crest Lock Company - New York NY
International Classification:
E05D 300
US Classification:
16128R
Abstract:
A clip consisting of a single strip of a strong metal such as steel having two legs at right angles and joined by a U-bend, one leg of the clip being a coplanar extension of one arm of the U-bend and the other leg of the clip extending away from the U-bend in a plane perpendicular to that of the other arm. Each clip leg has one or more openings. The clip is marketed in this shape. To use the clip, the clip leg that is coplanar with an arm of the U-bend is bent at the junction between said coplanar leg and arm to bring the two clip legs into juxtaposition, at which time the openings in the two legs are registered with each other, whereupon the clip is ready for installation. To enable the aforesaid clip leg to be bent precisely, a locating structure, e. g. a brace, is disposed at the junction between the coplanar leg and arm.
