Abstract:
A frequency offset estimation and correction apparatus including a frame averaging unit to average a plurality of frequency offset values to obtain a frame offset average for each of a plurality of frames, a re-sampling unit to produce a plurality of interpolated frequency offset values uniformly distributed over a time period of a frame of the plurality of frames based on the frame offset average of the frame and a frame offset average of at least one frame that precedes the frame, and an exponential averaging unit to calculate the estimated frequency offset based on the plurality of interpolated frequency offset values weighted by an exponential averaging coefficient.

Abstract:
An apparatus and method of communication in a network includes a hub having a burst time plan generating section to generate a burst time plan including time slot allocation information that allocates transmission time slots in a subsequent frame to remote terminals. The allocation information identifies at least one time slot in the subsequent frame as a dummy time slot assigned to at least one remote terminal already acquired in the network. The hub also includes a transmitter to transmit the burst time plan including the allocation information. A corresponding remote terminal and computer readable media are also discussed.

Abstract:
The disclosed embodiments provide a system for managing a broken link in a network with a Clos topology. During operation, the system detects, at a first node in the network, a broken link between the first node and a second node in the network. Next, the system identifies one or more upstream nodes in the network that can make routing decisions to avoid the broken link. The system then transmits a first indication of the broken link to the upstream node(s) without propagating the first indication to remaining nodes in the network. Finally, the system updates, based on the first indication, routing information at the upstream node(s) to avoid the broken link.
