Characterization Of Temporary Identifiers In A Wireless Communication Network

View page
US Patent:
20120039222, Feb 16, 2012
Filed:
Aug 13, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/856232
Inventors:
Jiansong Wang - Naperville IL, US
Ryan Redfern - Cerritos CA, US
Jianrong Wang - Sammamish WA, US
Assignee:
AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P. - Reno NV
International Classification:
H04L 12/56
H04B 7/00
US Classification:
370310, 370392
Abstract:
System(s), device(s), and method(s) are provided to characterize a temporary identifier for user equipment (UE) in telecommunication procedure(s) in a wireless communication network. Based on radio technology of at least one serving node that enables at least part of the telecommunication procedure(s), the UE generates a TI and a classifier that discloses the type of the TI. The classifier enables distinguishing a TI value in a first radio technology from a TI value in a second radio technology. In addition the classifier enables a serving node that receives the classifier to identify a logic address of a disparate serving node without restriction in backwards compatibility amongst radio protocols utilized by the wireless communication network.

Throughput For Inter-Radio Access Technology Handover

View page
US Patent:
20120294278, Nov 22, 2012
Filed:
May 20, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/112655
Inventors:
Jiansong Wang - Naperville IL, US
Ryan Redfern - Cerritos CA, US
Assignee:
AT&T INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY I, L.P. - Atlanta GA
International Classification:
H04W 36/00
US Classification:
370331
Abstract:
Aspects describe renegotiation of quality of service parameters to resolve maximum bit rate mismatches and/or other quality of service parameter mismatching issues that might arise during an inter-radio access technology handover. At about the same time as a mobile device moves from a source network to a target network, the target network dynamically initiates a quality of service modification procedure. The quality of service modification procedure can help resolve the maximum bit rate mismatches and/or the other quality of service parameter mismatching issues.

Long Term Evolution Network Dynamic Overload Management

View page
US Patent:
20130336118, Dec 19, 2013
Filed:
Jun 18, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/525554
Inventors:
Venson M. Shaw - Kirkland WA, US
Terry Figurelle - Redmond WA, US
Qingmin Hu - Sammamish WA, US
Ryan Eric Redfern - Cerritos CA, US
Jianrong Wang - Sammamish WA, US
Assignee:
AT&T INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY I, L.P. - Atlanta GA
International Classification:
H04L 12/24
US Classification:
370235
Abstract:
A downstream device in a network may monitor and collect data on its condition, including detecting overload conditions, and transmit such data to an upstream network device. The upstream network device may select a best downstream device for a particular traffic flow based on condition data received from downstream devices and transmit the traffic flow to the selected downstream device. A network management server may be configured to perform similar functions, instructing network devices on how to transport data through a network based on condition data received from such devices.

Inventors:
- Atlanta GA, US
Jie McKnight - Yarrow Point WA, US
Joseph Dahan - Redmond WA, US
Ryan Redfern - Cerritos CA, US
Yaron Koral - Cherry Hill NJ, US
Michal Cwian - Kirkland WA, US
Assignee:
AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P. - Atlanta GA
International Classification:
H04L 12/24
H04L 29/06
G06Q 30/02
H04W 36/04
H04W 36/00
H04W 48/02
Abstract:
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, analyzing data associated with a plurality of network domains, identifying, based on the analyzing of the data, a first action to be taken in a first network domain of the plurality of network domains, identifying, based on the analyzing of the data, a second action to be taken in a second network domain of the plurality of network domains, issuing a first directive to the first network domain to cause a first communication device in the first network domain to take the first action, and issuing a second directive to the second network domain to cause a second communication device in the second network domain to take the second action. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Device Contexts, Operational Modes, And Policy Driven Enhancements For Paging In Advanced Networks

View page
US Patent:
20210410109, Dec 30, 2021
Filed:
Sep 9, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/470204
Inventors:
- Atlanta GA, US
Ryan Redfern - Cerritos CA, US
Jiansong Wang - Lincroft NJ, US
International Classification:
H04W 68/04
H04W 68/02
H04W 64/00
H04W 28/02
H04W 68/06
Abstract:
Facilitating device contexts, operational modes, and policy driven enhancements for paging in advanced networks (e.g., 4G, 5G, 6G, and beyond) is provided herein. Operations of a network device can comprise analyzing a group of contextual data for a user equipment device, and mobility management behaviors historically implemented for the user equipment device and based on an indication that a page request is scheduled to be sent to the user equipment device. The operations can also comprise configuring a paging message for the user equipment device based on the contextual data and the mobility management behaviors. Further, the operations can comprise sending the paging message to the user equipment device.

Virtual Probes

View page
US Patent:
20200351190, Nov 5, 2020
Filed:
Jul 20, 2020
Appl. No.:
16/932907
Inventors:
- Atlanta GA, US
Vivek Mhatre - Bellevue WA, US
Ryan Redfern - Cerritos CA, US
Assignee:
AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P. - Atlanta GA
International Classification:
H04L 12/26
H04L 12/46
H04L 12/24
Abstract:
Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for virtual probes. A processor can execute a probe orchestrator service. The processor can obtain traffic monitoring data that describes traffic associated with a logical node. The logical node can include two or more devices that can exchange information as internal traffic. The processor can analyze the traffic monitoring data to determine one of the two or more devices hosts external traffic that involves an external device that resides outside of the logical node. In response to a determination that the one of the two or more devices hosts the external traffic, the processor can trigger instantiation of a virtual probe at the device of the plurality of devices.

View page
US Patent:
20200314718, Oct 1, 2020
Filed:
Jun 2, 2020
Appl. No.:
16/890695
Inventors:
- Atlanta GA, US
Ryan Redfern - Cerritos CA, US
Hugh Shieh - Sammamish WA, US
Jeffrey Hjort - Lynnwood WA, US
International Classification:
H04W 36/22
H04W 48/18
H04W 48/16
Abstract:
The described technology is generally directed towards enabling user equipment to perform route selection across multiple mobile communication technologies. User equipment route selection allows specifying, by the user equipment, information which affects the way the user equipment's network communications are handled by a communication network. User equipment route selection across multiple mobile communication technologies enables certain route selection capabilities whether the user equipment is connected to a 5G Core network mobile communication technology, a 5G Option 3× network mobile communication technology, or a LTE network mobile communication technology.
