US Classification:
713321, 713323, 709224, 455557, 455574
Abstract:
A mobile computing device that dynamically and automatically manages all network adapters on the device to obtain the best and most effective balance of network connectivity and power consumption without requiring operator or user application intervention. Performance is increased by lowering power consumption (longer battery life) and decreasing transaction latencies, providing a device that has flexibility and ease of use. According to one aspect is a system that includes a data analysis component that monitors parameters associated with a device and a mobility policy manager component that provides balance of network connectivity and power consumption based at least in part upon the monitored stimuli.

G08B 1/08
US Classification:
455344000, 455403000, 340010100, 340539130
Abstract:
Described is a system and method for locating a wireless device. The method comprising receiving a first wireless signal including first location data. The first location data corresponds to a first location of a wireless device as determined by a first wireless communication system. Receiving a second wireless signal including second location data. The second location data corresponding to a second location of the wireless device as determined by a second wireless communication system. Determining a third location of the device as a function of at least one of the first and second location data. Adjusting a setting of the wireless device as a function of the third location.

G01B 11/22
G01N 21/25
G01N 21/55
H04N 13/239
G06T 7/90
Abstract:
A computing device includes: a three-dimensional (3D) sensor configured to capture point cloud data from a field of view (FOV); an auxiliary sensor configured to capture reference depth measurements corresponding to a surface within the FOV; a controller connected with the 3D sensor and the auxiliary sensor, the controller configured to: detect a reference depth capture condition; when the reference depth capture condition satisfies a quality criterion, control the auxiliary sensor to capture a reference depth corresponding to the surface within the FOV; and initiate, based on the captured reference depth, generation of corrective data for use at the 3D sensor to capture the point cloud data.

Failure Mitigation Apparatus For Wearable Display Devices

US Patent:
20210373345, Dec 2, 2021
Filed:
May 28, 2020
Appl. No.:
16/886028
Inventors:
- Lincolnshire IL, US
Ronald Zancola - Phoenix AZ, US
International Classification:
G02B 27/01
G06F 1/16
Abstract:
A wearable computing device includes: a wearable housing; a display assembly supported by the housing and switchable between (i) an active configuration to occlude an optical path between an operator field of view and an exterior of the wearable computing device, and (ii) a fail-safe configuration to clear the optical path; and a mitigation subsystem including an actuator controllable to switch the display assembly from the active configuration to the fail-safe configuration in response to detection of a display failure condition.
