Systems And Methods For Distributing A Clock Signal

View page
US Patent:
20080219391, Sep 11, 2008
Filed:
Mar 7, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/683200
Inventors:
Roland Joseph Moubarak - Sachse TX, US
International Classification:
H04L 7/00
US Classification:
375356
Abstract:
One embodiment of the present invention includes a distributed clock system. The distributed clock system includes a clock transmitter configured to programmably amplify and transmit a sine-wave signal corresponding to a clock signal, and a clock receiver configured to receive the sine-wave signal and to convert the sine-wave signal into a square-wave clock signal.

Method And Apparatus For Switching Signals Of Multiple Different Communication Protocols

View page
US Patent:
6498792, Dec 24, 2002
Filed:
Jun 3, 1999
Appl. No.:
09/325689
Inventors:
Gary P. Johnson - McKinney TX
Roland J. Moubarak - Garland TX
Masahiro Shimbashi - Kawasaki, JP
Katsuya Shirota - Richardson TX
David X. Chen - Plano TX
Assignee:
Fujitsu Network Communications, Inc. - Richardson TX
International Classification:
H04L 1250
US Classification:
370388, 370466, 370376
Abstract:
A telecommunications switching apparatus ( ) includes optical paths ( ) coupled to interface cards ( ), which in turn are coupled to a switching circuit ( ). The switching circuit is coupled to a plurality of universal connectors ( ), each of which is coupled to an auxiliary connector ( ). The universal connectors can each removably receive any one of several types of switching circuit cards ( ), which each utilize a respective one of several different communication protocols. An auxiliary circuit card ( ) may be provided in the associated auxiliary connector, in order to support switching circuit cards that use certain communication protocols. The optically transmitted information includes segments formatted according to respective communication protocols, and is converted from optical to electrical form by the interface cards. The switching circuit then routes each segment to a respective universal connector containing a switching circuit card that effects switching according to the communication protocol of that segment.
