US Classification:
800281, 4353201, 536 236, 800278, 800279, 800295, 800298
Abstract:
This invention encompasses the identification and isolation genes and gene fragments that confer altered metabolic characteristics in plants, when expressed using GENEWARE™ viral vectors. These genes are derived from a variety of sources. Expression of these genes resulted in alterations of the levels of at least one of the following metabolites: acids, fatty acids, amino acids and related compounds, branched fatty acids, carbohydrates, hydrocarbons, alkaloids and other bases, esters, glycerides, phenols and related compounds, alcohols, alkenes and alkynes, sterols, oxygenated terpenes, and other isoprenoids, and ketones and quinones.

US Classification:
800/286000, 435/320100, 435/419000, 536/023600
Abstract:
This invention relates to putative known and unknown deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and amino acid sequences identified in one or more metabolic pathways that lead to dwarfism and stunting in plants and the use of these sequences in agriculture to create dwarf varieties of any plant species. This invention also relates to nucleic acids sequences and polypeptides that produce altered metabolism phenotypes in plants.

Filed:
Jul 26, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/487801
Inventors:
Vipula Shukla - Indianapolis IN, US
Rodney Crosley - Indianapolis IN, US
Thomas Skokut - Carmel IN, US
Max Ruegger - Inadianapolis IN, US
Ignacio Larrinua - Indianapolis IN, US
International Classification:
A01H001/00

C07H021/04
US Classification:
536/023600, 435/468000, 800/278000
Abstract:
This invention describes the identification and isolation of genes that confer modifications of plant architecture and/or leaf surface features in plant. These genes are derived from the following sources: (var. Indica IR7), and (Rifai 1295-22). Further, this invention also describes other both homologous and heterologous sequences with a high degree of functional similarities.
