About:
Rodica Balan provides her real estate clients with a rewarding full-service experience, handing every detail from the actual rental, purchase or sale of an apartment to the move, private and public school application process and more. Because Rodica knows New York so well, and understands that helping her clients involves fitting into a "lifestyle" as much as it does finding a home, she is an actively involved and reliable partner in your success. Rodica specializes in real estate on the Upper East Side of Manhattan where she resides, as well as in Sunnyside and Forest Hills, Queens. She previously lived in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, Sunnyside, Queens and on Manhattan's Upper West Side before settling down on the Upper East Side, making her familiar with NYC's wonderfully diverse neighborhoods and prepared to go wherever your heart takes you. Having worked in the financial services industry for over 12 years and owning her own properties as a longtime investor has armed Rodica with a strong knowledge of the markets and bottom line value. She has an expansive database of contacts that benefits sellers, renters and buyers, with a flair for bringing parties and deals together with her networking and negotiating skills. Originally from the Republic of Moldova in Eastern Europe, Rodica has had a longtime passion for real estate and began investing at 21. She still owns several properties in Moldova and Armenia that are rented to embassies, diplomatic corporations, investors and businessmen. Rodica has also owned and rented on the Upper East Side of Manhattan where she is raising her four children, making her particularly empathetic to the joys and challenges of a comfortable family life in NYC. Rodica is an honors graduate with several degrees a BA, MA, and MPA from New York University. She is fluent in English, Romanian and Russian, conversant in French and knowledgeable of basic Spanish and Italian. Rodica loves NYC's museums, art galleries and parks, as well as taking her kids swimming, bike riding and pastry shopping. She also breeds British Shorthair kittens which she finds homes for locally and around the world.
