E. I. du Pont de Nemours Jun 1987 - Jun 1990
Process Engineer
Education:
University of Houston 1992 - 2003
PhD, Chemical EngineeringResearch focused on elucidating the reduction process of nickel-based model reforming catalysts using in-situ, high temperature x-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Microprobe, and thermogravimetric (TG/DTA) analysis. Various gas-solid kinetic models were investigated to lead insight into the reaction mechanism. Crystallite size distribution and grain size distribution of metal/metal oxide rafts through the course of the reaction under various conditions lead to the development of a detailed surface reaction mechanism model which included the effects of reaction inhibitors including dopants and water in the feed gas, a common industrial condition. 2004 'Best Fundamental Paper' by the South Texas Section of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers for "X-ray Diffraction Study of the Hydrogen Reduction of NiO/ÃÂÃÂÃÂñ-Al2O3 Steam Reforming Catalysts" Texas A&M University 1983 - 1987
BS, Chemical Engineering
