Self-Closing Slide

View page
US Patent:
6712435, Mar 30, 2004
Filed:
Aug 20, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/224664
Inventors:
Jae Kim - Cerritos CA
Charles A. Milligan - Seal Beach CA
Ricardo Leon - Buena Park CA
Assignee:
Accuride International, Inc. - Santa Fe Springs CA
International Classification:
A47B 8804
US Classification:
3123191, 312333, 3123348
Abstract:
A self closing slide is provided having a first slide member slidably coupled to a second slide member. A slot is provided on the first slide member that receives an actuator of a self closing mechanism coupled to the second slide member. The mechanism comprises a housing having a slot guiding the actuator. The actuator is spring coupled to the housing. The actuator engages a portion of the first slide member when received in the slot for closing the first slide member relative to the second slide member.

Self-Closing Slide And Mechanism For A Self-Closing Slide

View page
US Patent:
6733097, May 11, 2004
Filed:
Apr 30, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/846765
Inventors:
Jae Kim - Cerritos CA
Charles A. Milligan - Seal Beach CA
Ricardo Leon - Buena Park CA
Assignee:
Accuride International, Inc. - Santa Fe Springs CA
International Classification:
A47B 8804
US Classification:
312333, 3123191
Abstract:
A mechanism is provided that couples to a slide member of at least a two member slide forming a self-closing slide. The mechanism comprises a housing having a slot guiding an actuator. The actuator is spring coupled to the housing. The actuator engages a second slide member of the slide when the second slide member approaches a closed position. The spring generates a force for moving the actuator and the engaged second slide along the slot to a slide closed position.

Dampened Movement Mechanism And Slide Incorporating The Same

View page
US Patent:
7537296, May 26, 2009
Filed:
Nov 3, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/266870
Inventors:
Ricardo A. Leon - Buena Park CA, US
Baoloc T. Le - La Puente CA, US
Emmanuel A. Hanna - Lake View Terrace CA, US
Assignee:
Accuride International, Inc. - Santa Fe Springs CA
International Classification:
A47B 88/00
US Classification:
312333
Abstract:
Self-moving mechanisms, slides incorporating such mechanisms, i. e. , self-moving slides and methods of self-moving slides are provided. An exemplary embodiment self-moving slide includes a first slide member and a second slide member slideably coupled to the first slide member. A self-moving mechanism is coupled to the second slide member for self-moving the first slide member relative to the second slide member. A dampener is included dampening the movement of the first slide member relative to the second slide member.

Oven

View page
US Patent:
7721463, May 25, 2010
Filed:
Jul 15, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/182220
Inventors:
Ricardo Leon - Montebello CA, US
International Classification:
F26B 7/00
US Classification:
34321, 34499, 34425, 99423
Abstract:
An oven includes a conveying interior for moving produce through the oven and a gas fired heat source for cooking the produce conveyed through the oven. The conveying interior preferably comprises a rotating drum with a conveying spiral extending inwardly from an inner wall of the rotating drum. The rotating drum may further be sloped downward to facilitate progress of the produce through the oven, and the time spent in the oven may be controlled by controlling the rotating rate of the drum. The gas fired heat source may comprise a thermostatically controlled burner residing under the drum.

Cryptosporidium Detection Method

View page
US Patent:
57703680, Jun 23, 1998
Filed:
May 9, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/647351
Inventors:
Ricardo De Leon - Irvine CA
Paul A. Rochelle - Manhattan Beach CA
Assignee:
Metropolitan Water District of Southern California - Los Angeles CA
International Classification:
C12Q 168
US Classification:
435 6
Abstract:
The subject invention provides processes and kits for detecting encysted forms of protozoa, particularly Cryptosporidium and Giardia, that are viable and infectious. To determine viability, cysts or oocysts are heated to a temperature that induces transcription of heat shock protein (HSP) genes. Alternatively, to determine infectivity the encysted forms are inoculated onto susceptible cell cultures. The viability or infectivity of the encysted forms can be determined by synthesizing a cDNA from an induced HSP RNA template using a primer that is specific for particular genus or species of protozoa, followed by enzymatic amplification of the cDNA. Alternatively, infectivity can be determined by amplifying HSP DNA from infected cells using a primer pair that is specific for a particular genus or species of protozoa. Amplified HSP DNA can be detected using probes that are specific for a protozoan species of interest, such as the human pathogens C. parvum and G. lamblia.

Satellite Array Architecture

US Patent:
20220344830, Oct 27, 2022
Filed:
May 11, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/742022
Inventors:
- Wilmington DE, US
Ying Feria - Manhattan Beach CA, US
Raenaurd Turpin - La Mirada CA, US
Andre Houle - Rolling Hills Estates CA, US
Richard Aston - Los Angeles CA, US
Brett Cope - Los Angeles CA, US
Ricardo Leon - Los Angeles CA, US
International Classification:
H01Q 21/00
H01Q 1/28
H01Q 5/50
B64G 1/64
H01Q 5/42
Abstract:
A satellite system can include one or more satellites that orbit the Earth. The one or more satellites may have satellite buses that support antenna arrays. The antenna arrays may include space fed arrays. Each space fed array may have an antenna feed array and an inner array that is coupled to a direct radiating array. The direct radiating array may operate in the same satellite band as the space fed array, or upconversion and downconversion circuitry may be used to communicatively couple a direct radiating array that operates in a different satellite band to the space fed array. The satellites may have peripheral walls with corner fittings that can be selected to provide the satellite bus with particular leg strengths. This can reduce overall mass of the satellites in a payload fairing while accommodating different types of antenna arrays.
