US Patent:
7448409, Nov 11, 2008
Filed:
Mar 17, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/082265
Inventors:
Raymond W. Micheel - Gilman IA, US
David J. Westwater - Marshalltown IA, US
Assignee:
Fisher Controls International LLC - St. Louis MO
International Classification:
F16K 3/24
US Classification:
13762537
Abstract:
A fluid flow control device includes a body defining an inlet, an outlet, and a fluid flow path extending from the inlet to the outlet. A valve seat ring is coupled to the body and defines an orifice through which the fluid flow path passes. A cage is also coupled to the body and defines an interior bore, wherein the cage includes at least one passage through which the fluid flow path passes. A throttling element is sized for insertion into the cage interior bore and movable along an axis between open and closed positions. The throttling element defines a sealing surface oriented substantially parallel to the axis. A seal is positioned to engage the sealing surface when the throttling element is substantially in the closed position, thereby to restrict fluid flow through the valve seat ring orifice.

US Patent:
20050211321, Sep 29, 2005
Filed:
Mar 26, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/810003
Inventors:
Donald Bush - Marshalltown IA, US
Raymond Micheel - Gilman IA, US
International Classification:
F15D001/00
US Classification:
138042000
Abstract:
Fluid pressure reduction devices for use in gas and liquid handling systems are disclosed. An example fluid pressure reduction device includes a plurality of cylinders, each having an inner diameter surface and an outer diameter surface and a plurality of apertures that extend from the inner diameter surface to the outer diameter surface. The cylinders are arranged in a nested configuration so that a substantial portion of the inner diameter surface of one of the plurality of cylinders is in contact with a substantial portion of the outer diameter surface of another one of the cylinders. Portions of the apertures of one of the cylinders overlap at least portions of the apertures of another one of the cylinders to form a process fluid flow path.

High Pressure Anti-Cavitation Cage

View page
US Patent:
20190101228, Apr 4, 2019
Filed:
Sep 29, 2017
Appl. No.:
15/721526
Inventors:
- Marshalltown IA, US
Raymond W. Micheel - Marshalltown IA, US
International Classification:
F16K 47/08
F16K 3/24
Abstract:
A control valve has a cage disposed within a valve body adjacent a valve seat and proximate a valve plug to provide guidance for the valve plug. The cage includes a solid, unitary circumferential wall with inlet passages adjacent one of an inner surface or an outer surface and outlet passages adjacent the other of the inner and outer surface. An annular cavity is spaced apart from the inner and outer surfaces and is connected to the inlet passages. Intermediate passages are connected to the annular cavity and recovery plenums interconnect the intermediate passages and the outlet passages. The recovery plenums have cross-sectional areas that are larger than a cross-sectional areas of the intermediate and outlet passages.
