I grew up on a farm in Linton, North Dakota. I spent my childhood riding horses and helping with day to day chores. Growing up in a small town taught me the importance of community and a strong work ethic. I learned from my grandfather that being honest and loyal will get you further in life and help you gain more friends along the way. At age 16 I made a commitment to serve 7 years with the Army National Guard. The Army Basic Training experiencefurther instilleddiscipline and attention to detail. I went on to earn a Degree in Respiratory Therapy from the College of St. Catherine, in Minneapolis, MN. Shortly after, I met my husband and moved to Sacramento, CA. I worked at a Trauma Center, mostly in theEmergency Room for 10 years. My experience in the medical fieldtaught me tostay calmunder stressful situations. My husband and I, along with our three wonderful boys moved from California to Idaho in 2011. It was the best decision we have ever made. We love what Idaho has to offer, especiallythe sense of belonging and connection we feel in our community. Raising our children in this peaceful environment reminds me of how I grew up and I know thattheywillhave similarexperiences here in Boise.
