View page
US Patent:
20090024256, Jan 22, 2009
Filed:
Jul 18, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/779843
Inventors:
Daniel Thomas Adams - Palo Alto CA, US
David Frederick Lyons - Palo Alto CA, US
Philip Wayne Luk - San Jose CA, US
Eugene Michael Berdichevsky - Palo Alto CA, US
Jeffrey Brian Straubel - Menlo Park CA, US
International Classification:
G05D 23/00
H02J 15/00
US Classification:
700300, 165287, 320136
Abstract:
A system for managing battery temperature is described. The system may include a cooling system which may include a fluid. A cabin circulation subsystem may be coupled to the cooling subsystem and may utilize the fluid for cabin cooling. A separate battery circulation subsystem may also may also be coupled to the cooling subsystem so that it may additionally utilize the fluid for battery cooling. A control may be present in order to regulate movement of the fluid to the cabin circulation subsystem and/or to the battery circulation subsystem.

System And Method For Additively Manufacturing An Object

View page
US Patent:
20180361473, Dec 20, 2018
Filed:
Jun 19, 2017
Appl. No.:
15/626310
Inventors:
- Schenectady NY, US
PHILIP LUK - BUCKEYE AZ, US
Assignee:
GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY - SCHENECTADY NY
International Classification:
B22F 3/105
B33Y 10/00
B33Y 30/00
B33Y 40/00
B33Y 50/02
C23F 1/02
Abstract:
A method for additively manufacturing an object is provided. The method includes forming the object on a sacrificial layer of a substrate such that the object is secured to a base layer of the substrate via the sacrificial layer. The method further includes removing at least some of the sacrificial layer from the substrate so that the object is no longer secured to the base layer.

Insitu Corona Poling Of Piezoelectric Ceramics

View page
US Patent:
20180287049, Oct 4, 2018
Filed:
Mar 31, 2017
Appl. No.:
15/476954
Inventors:
- Schenectady NY, US
Philip Wayne Luk - Phoenix AZ, US
International Classification:
H01L 41/257
H01L 41/293
H01L 41/297
G11C 11/4074
H01L 41/31
H04R 17/10
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to methods of manufacture of piezoelectric ceramic transducers useable, for example, in an ultrasound probe, using a poling process. The poling is accomplished without contacting transducer elements and by subjecting the piezoelectric ceramic transducer to a corona discharge. The disclosure further describes a system for poling a transducer comprising at least one piezoelectric ceramic component or transducer assembly, a ground plane comprising an electrical polarity, and a corona source connected to a first power source configured to supply a first voltage to the corona source having an electrical polarity opposite the electrical polarity of the ground plane. The at least one piezoelectric ceramic component or transducer assembly is positioned between the corona source and the ground plane within a chamber.
