Document Exchange System

View page
US Patent:
20030014384, Jan 16, 2003
Filed:
Feb 22, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/790824
Inventors:
Alan Ewald - Ashby MA, US
Owen Tallman - Lunenburg MA, US
Tom Cooper - Sutton MA, US
Peter Weyman - Uxbridge MA, US
International Classification:
G06F007/00
US Classification:
707/001000
Abstract:
A document exchange system including a write dispatcher which receives semi-structured documents and access control information from a first party relating to authorized viewers of the document. A capsule creator merges the semi-structured document and the access control information from the write dispatcher into a second semi-structured document to form a capsule. A capsule database then stores the capsules. An indexer creates an index entry for the capsule and an index database stores these index entries. A read dispatcher receives inquiries and identification information from a second party. A query processor then searches the index database and a storage server retrieves all relevant capsules that the second party is authorized to access. A capsule extractor then extracts the posted documents to be forwarded to the second party.

Burner Flame Detection

View page
US Patent:
42801842, Jul 21, 1981
Filed:
Jun 26, 1979
Appl. No.:
6/052113
Inventors:
Nathan K. Weiner - Stoughton MA
Peter J. Weyman - Boston MA
David D. Ketchum - Ipswich MA
Assignee:
Electronic Corporation of America - Cambridge MA
International Classification:
G06F 1520
G08B 1712
US Classification:
364506
Abstract:
Method and apparatus for evaluating the quality of a flame in response to outputs from a flame sensor. The present invention includes a method and apparatus in which output pulses from a flame sensor are continuously counted. The number of pulses is accumulated over a time interval of a predetermined length and compared with a threshold value. The accumulated total is continuously updated to reflect the pulses received over the previous time interval to effectively provide a moving time-window of a fixed length over which pulses from the flame sensor are accumulated. Other additional checks may be made to ascertain that a flame is present, including the time over which no pulses are detected and a long-term average of the number of pulses. A preferred embodiment disclosed in which numerous self-checking features are incorporated, and which includes a novel bar-graph type of display for displaying flame quality and diagnostic information.
