Filed:
Oct 28, 1996
Appl. No.:
08/739231
Inventors:
Paul Theodore VanGompel - Hortonville WI
Timothy James Blenke - Neenah WI
Nancy Ellen Dawson - Neenah WI
Yung Hsiang Huang - Appleton WI
Carl Gerard Rippl - Appleton WI
Barbara Oakley Sauer - Fremont WI
Georgia Lynn Zehner - Larsen WI
Assignee:
Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc. - Neenah WI
International Classification:
A61F 1315
US Classification:
6043853, 60438529, 604392
Abstract:
An absorbent article includes at least one fit panel which is located in one of the waist sections of the absorbent article adjacent an end edge of the absorbent article. The fit panel extends laterally beyond both of the side edges of an absorbent chassis of the absorbent article. The fit panel may include a center bridge panel and a pair of laterally opposed side panels which are connected to opposed lateral edges of the bridge panel. Desirably, the bridge panel and side panels provide individual zones of elasticity across the width of the fit panel which have different elastic properties.

Sanitary Napkin With Garment Attachment Panels

View page
US Patent:
6387084, May 14, 2002
Filed:
Feb 13, 1996
Appl. No.:
08/600317
Inventors:
Paul Theodore VanGompel - Hortonville WI
Julie Terese Brocker - Appleton WI
Lori Sue Schutkoske - Winneconne WI
Betsy Carolyn Westlake - Appleton WI
Assignee:
Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc. - Neenah WI
International Classification:
A61F 1315
US Classification:
60438504, 604387
Abstract:
An elongated sanitary napkin has deflectable longitudinal side edges formed by an edge or peripheral seal along the opposite sides of an absorbent. A garment attachment panel is secured to the underside of each side edge. A fixed portion of the panel is bonded flat against the side edge so that a free portion of the panel, extending from the fixed portion, is directed inward and downward. During use, the panels are fastened together beneath an undergarment crotch portion by hook and loop type fastener. Fastener and panels are sized so that when fastened the panels exert a pull on the side edges, controlling their deflection and, for example, preventing them from folding in over the absorbent. The garment attachment panels confine the undergarment crotch portion under the absorbent so that, for example, an elasticized edge of the crotch portion is prevented from pulling up and onto the absorbent.

Absorbent Article Having A Lateral Breathability Gradient In Use

US Patent:
6414217, Jul 2, 2002
Filed:
May 3, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/562968
Inventors:
Duane Girard Uitenbroek - Little Chute WI
Yung Hsiang Huang - Appleton WI
Thomas Harold Roessler - Menasha WI
Paul Theodore VanGompel - Hortonville WI
John Philip Vukos - Neenah WI
Michael Tod Morman - Alpharetta GA
Assignee:
Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc. - Neenah WI
International Classification:
A61F 1320
US Classification:
604378, 60438522
Abstract:
A disposable absorbent article is provided which includes a substantially liquid-impermeable outer cover, a liquid permeable bodyside liner, an absorbent body located between the outer cover and the bodyside liner, and a pair of fasteners located on the laterally opposed side edges in one of the waist sections of the absorbent article. The outer cover can be configured to provide a substantially permanent deformation of at least about 10 percent when subjected to a tensile force of 100 gmf per inch (per 2. 54 cm) of width according to the Material Elongation and Deformation Tensile Test set forth herein. The outer cover can further define a water vapor transmission rate of at least about 800 g/m /24 hr. The permanent deformation of the outer cover in use can result in a lateral breathability gradient ratio between the outer cover in the waist section and the crotch or intermediate section of the article of at least about 1. 25 according to the Product Deformation Test set forth herein.

Pre-Fastened Adjustable Mechanical Fastener Garment

US Patent:
6454752, Sep 24, 2002
Filed:
Mar 17, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/527776
Inventors:
Yung Hsiang Huang - Appleton WI
Thomas Harold Roessler - Menasha WI
Gary Lee Travis - Oshkosh WI
Paul Theodore VanGompel - Hortonville WI
Assignee:
Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc. - Neenah WI
International Classification:
A61F 1315
US Classification:
604389, 60438503, 60438501, 604387
Abstract:
A pant-like, prefastened, refastenable, disposable absorbent article includes a pair of fasteners which provide refastenable side seams and at least one waist size adjustment means. The prefastened absorbent article defines a pair of laterally opposed side edges and a pair of longitudinally opposed waist edges. The fasteners are permanently attached to the side edges of one of the waist edges and engage the side edges of the opposed waist edges to form the refastenable side seams defining a waist opening and a pair of leg openings in the prefastened absorbent article. The fasteners are further configured to provide a waist size adjustment means. The waist size adjustment means allows the wearer or the caregiver to reduce or increase the waist perimeter dimension of the prefastened absorbent article to conform the article to the wearers body after the absorbent article is positioned on the wearer by releasably engaging the waist size adjustment means to the exterior surface of the prefastened absorbent article.

Appl. No.:
10/407403
Inventors:
Paul Theodore VanGompel - Hortonville WI, US
Julie Terese Brocker - Appleton WI, US
Lori Sue Schutkoske - Winneconne WI, US
Assignee:
Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc. - Neenah WI
International Classification:

US Classification:
60438504, 604387, 604391
Abstract:
