Filed:
Nov 26, 1997
Appl. No.:
08/978794
Inventors:
Eric C. Anderson - San Jose CA
Patricia Scardino - Fremont CA
Assignee:
FlashPoint Technology, Inc. - Peterborough NH
International Classification:
H04N 576
US Classification:
348222, 3482316, 3482317, 348552, 382232
Abstract:
A system and method for adding file formats to a digital imaging device is disclosed. The digital imaging device includes a built-in file format. The method and system include allowing a user to loading a first file extension module, providing a management layer, and providing a plurality of data processing utilities. The first file extension module includes a second file format. The management layer communicates with the first file extension module to write and read an image file having the second file format. The management layer also communicates with a portion of the digital imaging device using an internal format. The plurality of data processing utilities are for converting data to between the second file format and the internal format.

Method And System For Automatically Generating A Plurality Of Folders For Multiple Devices And Multiple Sessions In A Digital Camera

View page
US Patent:
6507363, Jan 14, 2003
Filed:
Mar 18, 1998
Appl. No.:
09/040727
Inventors:
Eric C. Anderson - San Jose CA
Patricia Scardino - Fremont CA
Assignee:
FlashPoint Technology, Inc. - Peterborough NH
International Classification:
H04N 576
US Classification:
348233, 348231
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method and system for automatically generating a plurality of folders for multiple devices in a digital camera. The method and system comprises providing a folder of images from a digital camera and embedding an image file format in the folder, wherein the image file format identifies the particular camera. In a preferred embodiment, the image file format comprises a TIFF structure. Through this mechanism, a one level folder system can be utilized to retrieve images. In addition, since the image file format identifies the camera, conflicts due to identical serial numbers are eliminated.

System And Method For Retrieving Capability Parameters In An Electronic Imaging Device

Abstract:
A system and method for controlling parameters in an electronic imaging device comprises a series of parameter storage locations coupled to the imaging device for containing parameter value sets, a set of parameter commands for controlling the parameter value sets, and a parameter manager device for executing the set of parameter commands to control the parameters in the electronic imaging device.

Method And System For Increasing The Throughput Of Serial Data In A Computer System

View page
US Patent:
57614539, Jun 2, 1998
Filed:
Dec 7, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/568542
Inventors:
Eric C. Anderson - San Jose CA
Scott F. Fullam - Mountain View CA
Patricia A. Scardino - Fremont CA
Assignee:
Apple Computer, Inc. - Cupertino CA
International Classification:
G06F 1300
US Classification:
395306
Abstract:
A method and system provides for increasing the throughput of serial data in a computer system when a data packet is of unknown length. The method and system includes initializing a first count register to count a length field of the data packet, the length field including a value indication of the length of the data packet. The method and system further includes storing a count for a minimum data portion in a second count register and receiving the data packet from a serial device of the computer system. The method and system further provides for transferring the length value to the RAM of the computer system and loading the count for the minimum data portion into the first count register to provide primary chaining of the first count register to the second count register. The method and system finally provides for comparing a minimum data packet length to the length value in the RAM to determine whether to utilize secondary chaining of the first count register with the second count register.

Method And System For Managing Image Related Events Without Compromising Image Processing

View page
US Patent:
60526920, Apr 18, 2000
Filed:
Jan 30, 1998
Appl. No.:
9/016153
Inventors:
Eric C. Anderson - San Jose CA
Patricia Scardino - Fremont CA
Assignee:
FlashPoint Technology, Inc. - San Jose CA
International Classification:
G06F 1730
US Classification:
707102
Abstract:
A system and method for managing an image related event is disclosed. In one aspect, the method and system remove an image file on a digital imaging device. The image file is capable of including incompletely processed data. A reference to the image file is stored in a database. The method and system include ensuring that removal of the image file will not affect processing of a second image file and removing the reference to the image file from the database. In another aspect, the method and system mount a volume on a digital imaging device. The volume contains an image file capable of including incompletely processed data. The method and system include detecting the insertion of the volume, mounting the volume, providing a database including a reference to the image file, and completing image processing of the image file if the image file contains incompletely processed data.
