International Center for Journalists, John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Union of Journalists of Moscow.
Spent a month reporting from a Moscow newsroom (Ogoniok magazine), interviewing sources in both Russian and English, reporting from the Russian State Duma, and reporting from the annual press conference of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The exchange program, an outgrowth of the U.S.-Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission’s working group on media, had 12 selected U.S. journalists in Moscow and 12 Russian counterparts reporting from various newsrooms throughout the U.S.
Fellowship - Illuminating Today’s Japan for American Audiences
International Center for Journalists and the United States-Japan Foundation
One of three journalists chosen for a reporting tour in Japan aimed at shedding light on the relationship between the U.S. and Japan and the aftermath of the disasters in March 2011. Spent 12 days reporting from Japan, working with a Japanese fixer and interpreter. Interviewed locals and government officials in Tokyo, traveled to the northern prefecture of Aomori, interviewed the residents of the disaster-stricken prefecture of Fukushima and toured several nuclear facilities in the country.

One of ten students nominated from the top journalism schools in the United States to visit Jordan for a press trip aimed at exploring U.S.-Jordan bilateral relations and Jordan’s international role. Traveled to Amman, Petra, Madaba and the Dead Sea, interviewing ministers, government officials, journalists and entrepreneurs and touring non-governmental organizations and cultural centers in Jordan.
