Abstract:
A degradable compound, which may be used as a ball sealer and as an fluid loss additive for use in the oil and gas industry is disclosed. The compound comprises a particular composition of matter and injection molding technique that provides a ball sealer which will dissolve in stimulation or wellbore fluids after stimulation operations are complete. In a similar manner the compound may be used as a fluid loss additive which enhances the fracture filter cake and will dissolve completely after use in fracturing operations. Used as a ball sealer, the surface of the ball sealer softens slightly assuring a solid seal between the ball and the casing perforation. The pure composition when dissolved into wellbore fluids does not pose a hazard and has excellent dispersion in aqueous based wellbore fluids. The same composition, may be combined with fiber-glass to manufacture a high temperature ball sealer.

Abstract:
A single body port or body flange access device having an oval shape and associated stabilizer anchor for performing laparoscopic surgery is disclosed. The device is slipped into the body anchor stabilizer first so that the anchor stabilizer lifts up fat and peritoneum inside the body thereby keeping the operating area clear and acting to hold the body flange in place. The device further has a plurality of crisscrossing conduits assuming the shape of a cone through which surgical instruments may be inserted. The instruments are manipulated so that triangulation is obtained using one patient body flange while standard surgical procedures are performed on the patient. Due the oval shape of the device, the device minimally rotates while instruments are manipulated.

Abstract:
An access device for a minimally invasive procedure can include a port body defining an instrument channel for a medical instrument, a radial extension extending at least partially outward from the body in a radial direction. The radial extension can extend from a distal end of the port body. Abstract:
A percutaneous access device for use in minimally invasive surgery includes an elongated body having a proximal portion and an opposing distal portion. The proximal portion has a proximal bore extending therethrough and the distal portion has a distal bore extending therethrough. The distal portion of the body is hingedly connected to the proximal portion in a first percutaneous access position and a second anchoring position. In the first percutaneous access position the distal and proximal bores are linearly aligned when a surgical instrument is inserted into both the proximal and distal bores. In the second anchoring position the distal bore is angularly displaced from the proximal bore when the surgical instrument is removed from the distal bore.
