Appl. No.:
13/237719
Inventors:
Thomas Stephen Ellis - Novi MI, US
Nigel Giddons - Novi MI, US
John William Taylor - Novi MI, US
Kanu Chunilal Mehta - Novi MI, US
Gavin John Stormer - Novi MI, US
Kevin Fisher - Novi MI, US
Assignee:
TATA TECHNOLOGIES PTE LIMITED - Singapore
International Classification:
B62D 29/00
B29C 41/04
US Classification:
2961811, 264310
Abstract:
The invention provides a structure for automotive vehicle manufactured by rotational molding process having enough stiffness, strength and durability to sustain the weight of passengers without requiring any supporting sub-frames. The multilayer structure along with foam layer is used to provide additional impact strength and reliability to the structure of the vehicle against accidents. The single step production of structurally complex shaped body parts for automotive vehicle enables economic manufacturing and assembly of the automotive vehicle.

Cost Effective And Efficient Air Circulation System For A Vehicle Having Rotomolded Body Assembly

View page
US Patent:
20120100792, Apr 26, 2012
Filed:
Oct 19, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/276799
Inventors:
Nigel GIDDONS - Novi MI, US
John William TAYLOR - Novi MI, US
Assignee:
TATA TECHNOLOGIES PTE LIMITED - Singapore
International Classification:
B60H 1/26
US Classification:
454162
Abstract:
The present invention provides a cost effective and efficient air circulation system for a rotomolded vehicle body, comprising: at least one inlet vent disposed at the lower front of the rotomolded body assembly for receiving the air; an outlet vents comprising at least one venting vane disposed at floor of the rotomolded body assembly for receiving the air from inlet vent and disposing the air to underside of the floor for cooling of the power train system located beneath the floor. A roof of the rotomolded body assembly receiving the air from inlet vents and disposing in the void of the rotomolded body assembly for cooling the passenger area, wherein the air is forced-in from inlet vents and forced-out through the outlet vents. A high volumetric throughput pressure is maintained between inlet and outlet vents comprising the said venting vane due to position thereof.

Reinforced Vehicle Door Assembly

View page
US Patent:
61355372, Oct 24, 2000
Filed:
Dec 22, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/996437
Inventors:
Nigel Giddons - Troy MI
Assignee:
Chrysler Corporation - Auburn Hills MI
International Classification:
B60J 504
US Classification:
2961466
Abstract:
A reinforced vehicle door assembly more efficiently manages side impact energy by transferring the impact energy through door hinge assemblies to the vehicle frame. The door frame assembly preferably includes first and second reinforcement members or intrusion beams which are attached directly to hinge assemblies. The hinge assemblies have a first hinge member adapted for fixed attachment to the vehicle frame. A second hinge member is pivotally attached to the first hinge member and fixedly attached to a tapping plate. The tapping plate is in turn fixedly attached to the frame of the door. One end of both of the reinforcement members is fixedly attached to an associated one of the mounting plates.
