Robert H. Tigner - Dalworthington Gardens TX, US
Assignee:
SCS Frigette - Fort Worth TX
International Classification:
F25B029/00
B60H001/00
B60H003/00
B60H001/22
US Classification:
165 43, 165 42, 165202, 1231425 R, 62236, 62239, 62244, 623231, 237 123 A, 237 123 B
Abstract:
A heating and air-conditioning system has an auxiliary engine for heating and cooling of a vehicle while the primary engine of the vehicle is not operating. The vehicle has a sleeper compartment with a sleeper compartment air conditioning unit powered by the main engine. An auxiliary air conditioning system located exterior of the sleeper compartment is powered by the auxiliary engine. An auxiliary supply duct extends into the sleeper compartment and joins the duct of the sleeper compartment air conditioning unit. A valve operated by air pressure blocks air flow from the sleeper compartment air conditioning unit into the auxiliary duct while in the main position. In the auxiliary position, the valve blocks air flow from the auxiliary duct into the sleeper compartment air conditioning unit.

US Patent:
7259469, Aug 21, 2007
Filed:
Aug 2, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/909829
Inventors:
Keiv Brummett - Joshua TX, US
Bobby L. Pannell - Copper Canyon TX, US
Neal G. Shields - Fort Worth TX, US
Assignee:
SCS Frigette Inc. - Fort Worth TX
International Classification:
F02D 29/06
H02P 9/04
B60H 3/00
B60H 1/00
B61D 27/00
US Classification:
290 40C, 290 42, 165 42, 165202
Abstract:
A truck includes an auxiliary power unit having components specifically selected such that they form a stand-alone unit that can fit within an auxiliary compartment of a vehicle and deliver heating, cooling, and additional electric power to the vehicle. Included is an auxiliary engine, an auxiliary alternator, and an auxiliary condenser to provide coolant for a personnel compartment mounted evaporator. An auxiliary voltage regulator provides a ramp-up feature to minimize excessive start-up loads, limits maximum available current from the auxiliary alternator when the auxiliary compressor is engaged, and selectively disables power to electrical components in the event of low vehicle battery voltage. The auxiliary engine includes a radiator system to provide heated fluid for a personnel compartment mounted heat exchanger.

System And Method For Collaborative And Social Group Phone Conferencing

View page
US Patent:
7991137, Aug 2, 2011
Filed:
Oct 27, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/588668
Inventors:
Neal G. Shields - Fort Worth TX, US
International Classification:
H04M 3/56
US Classification:
37920401, 370261, 37920501, 455416
Abstract:
A system to facilitate phone conferencing between a plurality of phone users over a communications network, program product, and methods are provided. Phone conferencing over a communications network is facilitated by a system that forms a server network that enables users to participate in a conference call. A conference management program product is stored in a memory of the server including instructions which allow users of the system to establish conferencing groups and set participation preferences of the members. The system can utilize the preferences to initiate and conduct the conference call.

Speed Governor With Dual Safety System

View page
US Patent:
43456634, Aug 24, 1982
Filed:
Jul 18, 1980
Appl. No.:
6/170112
Inventors:
Neal G. Shields - Fort Worth TX
Assignee:
Specific Cruise Systems, Inc. - Fort Worth TX
International Classification:
B60K 3100
US Classification:
180177
Abstract:
A motor vehicle speed governor has safety features to assure that the throttle is released when the brake pedal is depressed even if malfunctions occur in certain components of the system. The speed governor has a servo for moving the throttle, an accelerator device for causing the servo to advance the throttle, a decelerator device for releasing the throttle, a control circuit for controlling the accelerator and decelerator devices in response to vehicle speed, and a power circuit that energizes the control circuit. The power circuit is connected into the brake electrical line. It includes a latching device that is powered through the ignition switch, but will latch and conduct only when energized by a set/on switch. The set/on switch requires power in the brake line across the brake fuse. The resume switch also requires power from the brake line across the brake fuse.

Trailer Theft And Burglary Alarm System

View page
US Patent:
47377631, Apr 12, 1988
Filed:
Apr 27, 1987
Appl. No.:
7/042731
Inventors:
John M. DeFino - Roanoke TX
Neal G. Shields - Fort Worth TX
Assignee:
Specific Cruise Systems, Inc. - Fort Worth TX
International Classification:
B60R 2500
US Classification:
340 63
Abstract:
A trailer theft and burglary alarm system utilizes the releasable electrical connection between a vehicle light circuit and the trailer brake light circuit to warn the operator that the releasable electrical connection is being tampered with. A signal producing apparatus continuously monitors the resistance of the trailer brake light circuit and produces a signal corresponding thereto. When the vehicle is to be left unattended, the signal is recorded. Thereafter, if the releasable connection is disconnected, the signal produced will differ from the original signal. This difference is recognized and the alarm sounds. Portal sensors can be provided that will produce a change in either the resistance or capacitance sensed by the signal producing apparatus if a portal to the trailer is disturbed. This change in either resistance or capacitance will also alter the signal produced, and trigger the alarm.

Vehicle Filtration Control System

View page
US Patent:
62838490, Sep 4, 2001
Filed:
Oct 5, 2000
Appl. No.:
9/679908
Inventors:
Neal G. Shields - Ft Worth TX
Assignee:
Specific Cruise Systems, Inc. - Fort Worth TX
International Classification:
B60H 306
US Classification:
454 75
Abstract:
A vehicle air filtration system having a fine and coarse filters. The system is responsive to temperature to maximize filter life and filtration efficiency. During normal operation, air from within the cab is recirculated through a fine filter as fresh air from outside the cab is drawn in through a coarse filter. If a vehicle door or window is opened, the system stops recirculating air through the fine filter, begins exhausting air, and only draws in air through the coarse filter. After a period of time, the system again begins recirculating air through the fine filter and ceases drawing in air through the coarse filter and exhausting air. After a second period of time it returns to normal operation. If the door or window is open only briefly, the system stops recirculating air though the fine filter and begins recirculating air through the coarse filter along with the fresh air (and begins exhausting air). After a period of time, the system again begins recirculating air through the fine filter and ceases drawing in air through the coarse filter and exhausting air.

Automobile Intruder Alarm System

View page
US Patent:
48664170, Sep 12, 1989
Filed:
Apr 24, 1987
Appl. No.:
7/042375
Inventors:
John M. DeFino - Roanoke TX
Neal G. Shields - Fort Worth TX
Assignee:
Specific Cruise Systems, Inc. - Fort Worth TX
International Classification:
B60R 2500
US Classification:
340429
Abstract:
An improved vehicle intruder alarm system includes a method of automatically arming an alarm system. When arming the alarm system by remote control the vehicle windows can be raised and the vehicle headlights automatically turned on by remote control. When entering a vehicle door while the system is armed, a low warning tone is produced for an entry delay time. The warning tone increases with time. The processor for the alarm senses the magnitude and rate of impacts or motions of the vehicle. Short warnings are produced when the magnitude and rate are above a threshold.
