Wiper Arm Having Swivel Cover Allowing Access To The Head And Pivot Shaft

View page
US Patent:
8205292, Jun 26, 2012
Filed:
Mar 24, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/070897
Inventors:
C. Joseph Thielen - Shelby Township MI, US
Mitica Polocoser - Wayne MI, US
Assignee:
Trico Products Corporation - Rochester Hills MI
International Classification:
B60S 1/34
US Classification:
15250351, 1525034
Abstract:
A windshield wiper arm assembly that is adapted to support a wiper blade as it moves across a surface to be wiped. The windshield wiper arm assembly includes a body and a head supported by the body and adapted to be mounted to a pivot shaft that defines a pivot axis P and drives the wiper blade in an oscillating manner across the surface to be wiped. The body also includes an opening providing access to the head mounted to the pivot shaft. A cover is mounted to the body at the opening and is movable about an axis A substantially parallel to the pivot axis P from a first position closing the opening to a second position allowing access to the head.

Windshield Wiper Assembly Having An Optimized Airfoil

US Patent:
20100218332, Sep 2, 2010
Filed:
Feb 26, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/660414
Inventors:
Aaron Stankiewicz - Shelby Twp. MI, US
Rolando Lozano - Oxford MI, US
Mitica Polocoser - Wayne MI, US
Kyle Moll - Oxford MI, US
George Hojnacki - Commerce MI, US
International Classification:
B60S 1/38
US Classification:
15250201
Abstract:
A wiper assembly having a wiping element for contact with a windshield within a predetermined attack angle range of 10 perpendicular relative to the surface to be wiped. The wiper assembly further includes two elongated beams that are engaged to the wiping element and apply a downward force thereto. The wiper assembly also includes a connecting member mounted to the elongated beams. The wiper assembly also includes an airfoil that has an attachment portion attached to the elongated beams and an upper portion that is attached to the attachment portion. The upper portion includes a wing having a facing surface and a trailing surface that extend outwardly from the upper portion at converging angles to improve wind lift resistance and reduce drag.

Wiper Adapter And Wiper Assembly Incorporating The Same

View page
US Patent:
20190039574, Feb 7, 2019
Filed:
Feb 15, 2017
Appl. No.:
16/077530
Inventors:
- Rochester Hills MI, US
Mitica Polocoser - Wayne MI, US
Kyle Moll - Oxford MI, US
International Classification:
B60S 1/40
B60S 1/38
Abstract:
An adapter for attaching to a wiper arm attachment member having a track defined by a base and walls depending therefrom, a bent tab extending outwardly from the base, and fins that extend from the walls. The adapter has a body with a first and second ends. A stop wall formed at the first end abuts the track. A pair of outer walls extend between the first and second ends. A strap connects the outer walls for engaging the base. A pair of inner walls are spaced laterally between the outer walls and are arranged at least partially under the strap. A cantilevered finger extends from each of the inner walls with a tab formed adjacent to the second end. The tabs extend away from each other and are arranged to engage respective fins to prevent movement between the adapter and the attachment member when the stop wall abuts the track.

Refillable Wiper Blade With Refill Subassembly

US Patent:
20180312139, Nov 1, 2018
Filed:
Nov 2, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/772827
Inventors:
- Rochester Hills MI, US
Mitica Polocoser - Wayne MI, US
International Classification:
B60S 1/38
Abstract:
A refillable wiper blade () including a refill subassembly () and a coupler () adapted for releasable attachment thereto. The refill subassembly includes a wiping element (), an elongated spline () supporting the element, and a retention clip () operatively attached to the spline. The clip has a body () and an upwardly-biased cantilevered finger () extending from the body. The coupler has a first end (A) shaped to receive the body of the clip, and a relief () defined adjacent to the first end and shaped to accommodate the finger of the clip. The refill subassembly and the coupler cooperate such that predetermined movement of the coupler with respect to the refill subassembly brings the body into engagement with the first end of the coupler such that the finger deflects downwardly until subsequent movement of the coupler along the spline releases the finger upwardly and into the relief of the coupler thereby securing the refill subassembly to the coupler.

Winter Wiper Assembly

US Patent:
20150274128, Oct 1, 2015
Filed:
Apr 1, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/242053
Inventors:
- Rochester Hills MI, US
Daniel Ehde - Ortonville MI, US
Mitica Polocoser - Wayne MI, US
Assignee:
TRICO PRODUCTS CORPORATION - Rochester Hills MI
International Classification:
B60S 1/38
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a wiper assembly that includes at least one elongated support element, a wiping element, and an airfoil. The wiping element is adapted to contact a surface to be wiped and has a head portion attached to the support element, a wiping portion spaced from the head portion, and a pair of opposed grooves disposed between the head portion and the wiping portion. The airfoil has a body with a lower surface and a slot spaced therefrom for accommodating the support element. The body has a channel extending from the lower surface to the slot, thereby defining a pair of opposed shelves. The body further includes a pair of concealing members depending from the shelves. The concealing members are at least partially disposed in the grooves of the wiping element so as to substantially conceal the support element within the body of the airfoil.
