Continuous Micro-Groove Roller Technology

View page
US Patent:
20090001207, Jan 1, 2009
Filed:
Jun 29, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/824561
Inventors:
Riccardo James Tresso - Westminster CO, US
Michael J. Vega - Longmont CO, US
Michael J. Lemmon - Arvada CO, US
Assignee:
Quantum Corporation - San Jose CA
International Classification:
G11B 17/04
US Classification:
242348
Abstract:
A guide roller mounted in a tape drive for reducing mechanical noise associated with travel of a magnetic tape medium in a tape path is provided. The guide roller includes a cylindrical barrel, which is rotatably coupled to a tape drive. The cylindrical barrel rotates as the magnetic tape medium is guided by the guide roller as it travels through the tape path. A continuous helical groove forms a spiral on the outer surface of the cylindrical barrel along the length of the cylindrical barrel. The continuous helical groove forms contiguous rings of the spiral.

Sensor Protection Systems And Methods

View page
US Patent:
20090220053, Sep 3, 2009
Filed:
Mar 3, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/380855
Inventors:
Riccardo J. Tresso - Westminster CO, US
Michael J. Vega - Longmont CO, US
International Classification:
A61B 6/14
H01J 31/50
US Classification:
378168, 378189
Abstract:
An intra-oral sensor protection device in accordance with the present invention facilitates the comfort of the patient during radiology examination, while protecting sensitive and relatively delicate digital sensors from damage during the examination. Features of the present invention address protection of the sensor during intra-oral manipulation and placement of the sensor during examination, providing a fluid barrier, and variable positioning features, all while facilitating the ease of use of the sensor in radiographic examination in preparation for, during and after the exam. The intra-oral sensor protection device has two sensor protection elements that are releasably retained in either open or closed configurations to provide a protective casing for a sensor. Features are provided to accommodate for either wired or wireless sensor communication and may have sensor protection connection elements that provide for a fluid barrier when each sensor protection element is retained in a closed configuration. A sensor may be releasably retained within an interior of the two sensor protection elements, the sensor in preferred embodiments being retained within the two sensor protection elements. The present invention relates and is directed to apparatus and methods of dentistry and dental examination. The present invention also provides processes and methods directed to one or more aspects of intra-oral radiological dental examination.

US Patent:
20120298706, Nov 29, 2012
Filed:
Dec 22, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/335473
Inventors:
Mark D. Gordon - Lafayette CO, US
Jeffrey P. Davies - Louisville CO, US
Christopher M. White - Frederick CO, US
William H. Vermeer - Longmont CO, US
Timothy J. Kelly - Boulder CO, US
Michael J. Vega - Longmont CO, US
Matthew A. Whitlock - Broomfield CO, US
Assignee:
STRATOM, INC. - Boulder CO
International Classification:
B60R 11/06
US Classification:
224401
Abstract:
Systems and methods for mounting and using various different accessories on a robotic system such as a unmanned ground vehicle (UGV). A tool library may include interchangeable modules, each module having a number of tool holders. Electronic components may be mounted to each of the modules adjacent to each of the of tool holders that identify the module and tool that is associated with the tool holder. The UGV may have a reader that is capable of reading the electronic components to determine the module and tools that are available for use on the UGV.

Tape Deflector Having Integrated Roller

View page
US Patent:
20070064340, Mar 22, 2007
Filed:
Sep 22, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/234775
Inventors:
Michael Holmberg - Lafayette CO, US
Amaninder Dhillon - Longmont CO, US
Michael Vega - Longmont CO, US
Assignee:
Quantum Corporation - San Jose CA
International Classification:
G11B 15/00
US Classification:
360095000
Abstract:
In one example a tape deflector assembly for use within a media drive is provided. The tape deflector assembly includes a tape deflector operable to selectively move and deflect a tape path away from a transducer head (e.g., to accommodate the passage of a leader and buckle mechanism thereby). The tape deflector includes a rotatable element operable to rotate in response to contact with an object (e.g., a leader or data storage tape) moving relative to the rotatable element. In one example, the tape deflector includes a movable arm, and the rotatable element is disposed at a distal end of the movable arm. The movable arm may rotate and/or translate to position the rotatable element and deflect the tape path. The assembly may further include a resilient member associated with the movable arm such as a spring loaded mechanism associated with the tape deflector.

Jbod Cable

View page
US Patent:
20140268538, Sep 18, 2014
Filed:
Jun 28, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/931796
Inventors:
- Fremont CA, US
Michael J. Vega - Longmont CO, US
International Classification:
H05K 7/14
US Classification:
36167933, 439502, 439 77, 174535
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention include a plurality of flexible electrical conductors configured as a cable wherein a plurality of signal pairs connect printed circuit boards in an array of data storage devices or just a bunch of disks (JBOD) enclosure. By controlling various specific dimensions relating to each signal pair of electrical conductors in a flexible cable, the performance of a JBOD box or a data storage server can be maximized. Furthermore, flexible cable designs can themselves replace bulkier circuit boards enabling greater air flow through the JBOD box or data storage server.

Pcb Mounted Cover Activated Intrusion Detection Switch

View page
US Patent:
20140268559, Sep 18, 2014
Filed:
Apr 10, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/860235
Inventors:
Michael J. Vega - Longmont CO, US
International Classification:
H01H 3/16
US Classification:
36167957, 361752
Abstract:
An intrusion detection switch is attached directly to a printed circuit board and utilized within an enclosure. Wires are not used to extend the switch to the top of the enclosure. An extension mechanism is used to extend a triggering portion of the intrusion detection switch to an engaging surface at the top of the enclosure. When the enclosure lid is properly shut, the engaging service is directed downward, thereby pushing an activation switch of the intrusion detection switch down. Switches may be assembled to an internal main printed circuit board where the switch is completely protected. Therefore, routing and maintaining of wiring to a switch is eliminated. A linkage system or mechanism can be mounted to the main chassis of the enclosure and act as an interface to an enclosure top cover. This eliminates potential damage to switches and wires and provides for a more reliable switch.
