Illumination System For Balloons With Thin Film Valves

View page
US Patent:
6602105, Aug 5, 2003
Filed:
Oct 21, 1998
Appl. No.:
09/176402
Inventors:
Michael Sussell - New York NY, 10013
International Classification:
F21V 3300
US Classification:
446220, 362253
Abstract:
A balloon illumination system, for illuminating a thin film balloon comprising a pair of thin film panels that are heat sealed together to define a balloon interior, the balloon having a balloon top and a balloon bottom, an apex at the balloon top, a mouth at the balloon bottom, and a flat film valve creating a sleeve having a sleeve width. The balloon illumination system comprises a tube having a tube circumference that is substantially equal to two times the sleeve width, a proximal end and a distal end. A light source is located in the tube midway between the proximal end and distal end. An electrical cable extends proximal through the tube from the light source. The distal end of the tube is inserted into the mouth of the tube and is extended through the sleeve until the distal end reaches the apex. Leakage is prevented by the tight fit between the tube and the sleeve. The light source is positioned in the balloon interior midway between the balloon top and balloon bottom.

US Patent:
55286763, Jun 18, 1996
Filed:
Aug 29, 1994
Appl. No.:
8/298223
Inventors:
Michael A. Sussell - New York NY
Daniel D. Feinsmith - New York NY
International Classification:
H04M 1500
US Classification:
379111
Abstract:
A method is disclosed for monitoring the activity of a subscriber line to determine the adequacy of the current service and service options. Central to the method is determining the number of missed calls and attempted calls to the line in a given time period. A missed call is defined as a call which is not received due to the line being busy or unattended. The method comprises the steps of: monitoring the subscriber line for activity; determining the number of attempted calls to the line in a period of time; determining the number of missed calls to the line in the period of time; and generating a missed calls percentage which can be presented to the subscriber to show the inadequacy of the current level of subscriber service.
