Abstract:
Apparatuses, methods and storage medium associated with identifying a physical distance using audio channels are disclosed herein. In embodiments, an apparatus may include at least one speaker and microphone associated with an audio channel, which may be of a plurality of audio channels. The apparatus may include circuitry to identify an amount of time between times of transmission of a first ultrasonic signal, and receipt of a second ultrasonic signal received via the microphone. The second ultrasonic signal may be transmitted by an external device, which also may provide a time between receipt of the first signal and transmission of the second signal. The amount of time may be usable to determine a physical distance between the apparatus and the external device. Other embodiments may be disclosed or claimed.

Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are described for ultrasound transmission. A bit packet is created from received data. A cyclic redundancy check (CRC) is added to the bit packet based on the input data. The bit packet is encoded with forward error correction. The encoded bit packet is block interleaved to create a bit stream. The bit stream is converted into symbols. Each symbol is mapped to a dual tone multi frequency (DTMF). A first audio buffer based upon the DTMF is created. The audio buffer is provided for output.

Abstract:
An embodiment of an audio controller device includes technology to control an output of a first audio signal from an audio output device in a human interface frequency range, where the human interface frequency range includes frequencies audible to humans, and control an output of a second audio signal from the audio output device in a device interface frequency range independent from the output of the first audio signal, where the device interface frequency range includes frequencies above an upper limit of the human interface frequency range.
